Re: How do you stop corner routes playing zone?

A lot of this is good stuff bro. Someone else said it earlier though...

30 yard Cloud flats are the # 1 way to stop the corner routes. Probably the best defense to run this out of is a cover 2 shell like Tampa 2. You have to user deep middle though…
domblaze said:Lots of good info here. 30 yard flats out of base aligned Cover 2 definitely stops corner routes. I think Dollar is the best form to use for that style.
Pressing Cover 4 works well to make it a tighter throwing window (possibly giving your pass rushers time to get home), but definitely need Deep Out KOs for consistent stops.
2 man under shaded outside works great at stopping corners, but will leave anything else wide open.
Cover 3 Seam works great if they aren’t running a flat route.
I think mixing all of these into your game plan gives you the best chance to get a negative play. Using Base Align or naturally disguised plays like Cover 3 Buzz Seam or Cover 2 Invert can also help get them in the wrong set up.

Worst is, I get these pinched nerves as I get older and my hands tingle, makes it a lot harder to play LOL...

But I just can't stop myself from playing :)
chefbulldog said:I’ve said it before…..you just need one person in the room to raise their hand and ask questions. Like, “did you guys see Tark play….here are 15 seconds of YouTube highlights”. Deion has had terrible press ratings for 20 years until this harvest ltd. Man played on the line with his hands on receivers nearly every play. Never got beat over the top when doing it. Hurts that the NFL doesn’t come asking questions.
And 55 here too. Reflexes are definitely not the same. Makes me laugh when kids talk trash. Mainly because they do it so poorly.
Re: Ok so lot of content to go through but 1 thing that stand out - Tarkenton TOR??????

You'd think a guy who actually played on an NFL practice squad would know stuff like this, and maybe he does. Not sure this is in his purview though...not sure who actually determines these cards and their ratings
jsmiller2003 said:Tarkenton was LITERALLY the prototypical scrambler in NFL history. It's a good thing Clint is running the show, cuz his deep knowledge of the league is critical to our wonderful in-game experience this and previous years!!! ;)

I thought so too but most of the MCS guys used Mahomes it seems. For me he misses too many throws
weplaythose said:the issue is with mahomes, ive never used a mahomes card that was better than average, SFL is one of the best abilities in the game

Re: Team Diamonds prep.

I've seen in other Maddens where program cards were required as well. Headliner cards, AKA cards, Legends, etc. One year low 80's Legends were super expensive because they were no longer required for Legends sets so most people QS them
jsmiller2003 said:To Kaotikords' point, the set requirements this year may look fundamentally different than they have in previous years for three reasons:
- The program is being released ~ 1 month later than it has in recent years, meaning more program cards have been released than Core cards compared to average
- The reduction in OVRs this year (compared to previous years) means that this year's 92 OVR hero is essentially the equivalent of a 93-94 OVR in last year's game. That means Core Elites and Golds don't carry enough TP to build the 92 Hero - you need 87 OVR+ cards to get there, and those are program cards
- The explosion of "same player, multiple card" programs like AKA and All Madden mean there are many more 82-86 cards that AREN'T Core Elites than in previous years.
In turn, three things will make the set builds painful:
- Random selection of <80 OVR cards, especially since the Auction Houses are super low on them right now
- Required >88 OVR cards rather than Wild Cards (good luck finding some random TOTW 89 OVR when you need it!)
- Random midlevel program cards (i.e., 84 AKA Jerome Bettis, or 86 OVR Legend Willie Roaf).
Thoughts appreciated!
