I would just like to warn anyone who is considering buying either the 98 Bo Jackson TE or 98 Bo Jackson SS, these cards are complete unusable garbage even if you get the "BND LTD Upgrade Token" from the store, which can also only be bought with points.
The token a 5% reroll, so in a perfect world it's $10, but you can only buy the $10 reroll THREE times. So it's either $10-$30 if you get extremely lucky, or you have to spend an extra $100-$300! The $100 bundle is somehow NOT a guaranteed or even a 50% chance at a token, it's just 8 more 5% rerolls. This is like, unbelievably stingy, even for EA.
Onto the actual cards, if you get the TE card (the upgradable 93, the base 96 is probably one of the worst cards released in the last two weeks) and don't have the LTD token you're paying for a 6'1 TE with one team chem and two discounted ability buckets. His stats (with and without the token) are also complete garbage, he has 87 CIT and 85 Spec Catch, Agility too low for Route Tech or HJ, and terrible ball carrier & blocking stats.
If you do get the token, he basically just gets another +1 to all of his stats from the 98, 32 team chems (which isn't even that useful on a card so bad, the Pitts from 2 months ago is 10x better if you need a 32 team TE, he'll still be much better in S8 as well.), another discounted bucket + 0AP HJ Only bucket and a "Passive X-Factor Bucket". The only issue is that he doesn't get basically any of these because his stats are so low. No Double Me, No Mossed (However this would be terrible to use regardless), No Vanguard, No RAC, Not even YAC 'EM, He literally only gets Max Security, Ankle Breaker & Grab and Smash at the moment. Basically $100 for 4 AP Grab and Smash.
As for the Strong Safety, it's actually unbelievable. You have built in ES, which is fine, and then ONE 0/1AP discounted bucket, and a S8 bucket. Nothing else without the token. As for his stats, he's a 6'1 safety with 97 speed and 96 acc. His physical attributes are all fine, NOT great. He has decent zone and very mediocre man, zero pass rushing, and high (but just not high enough to be amazing) block shed. His only ability usable stat is his 97 tackling (which is enough for TS or Menace), and his other stats are all basically one point too low for any basic abilities. He has 87 catching (One point too low for Pick Artist), 96 Zone (One point too low for DZKO), and 94 MCV (This card would already be terrible in man because he has 85 press and is 6'1 but they decided to make him one point shy of at least getting inside shade and multiple points away from MRKO and DRKO.)
With the LTD Token, you get 32 chems, you get around +1 or +2 to all stats, (which allows for actually decent abilities) one more discounted bucket, a 4AP X-Factor bucket, and a 0 AP Zone Hawk bucket. His built in XF Bucket is extremely useless because it literally only has Avalanche and Zone Hawk, with ZH available for 0AP in the next bucket anyway. His stats are literally all too low for anything else. For ~$130 you get a 6'1 32 team chem safety with 3 ability buckets, Enforcer Supreme, 4 AP Avalanche, and Zone Hawk.
Honestly one of the most overpriced cards imaginable and unbelievably disrespectful. I'm not even sure why he has SS and TE cards, but who would even care if they weren't unbelievably overpriced, or at least good. This kind of stuff is the reason they lost Julio's rights. This is ridiculous. This is honestly up there with the Genki Lamar from a few months ago, and at least that was probably the best QB in the game at the time, and he got reduxed. These cards are awful, and will always be behind a giant paywall. If you only take away one thing from all of this, DO NOT waste your money on these awful, overpriced cards. They aren't worth it. Just wait for the draft promo. The HB is probably the best card in the game though.
