Well I finally played a sweaty player. If anyone feels like it can they explain how my team refuses to cover this dang te. Weather a streak or somehow he calls a out route or corner route un covered. First time I have come across this
Let me guess, were they coming out in normal y off close? Y sail? lol

lol when in doubt, y-sail. love that play
The h2h seasons Super Bowl is so sweaty, the person I just played was not good at all but kept using glitchy plays, so I lost

Are you playing mostly Man coverage or Zone? Or some of both? Not that it matters much, defensive backs are going to react poorly (slowly) no matter what you try and tell them to do. Certain Zones (especially Deep Blues) struggle mightily. Other routes, such as stemmed down Corner, or TE/Slot Streaks are going to feel impossible to defend at times. You are certainly not alone.
Basically, in order for us to have ANY hope or prayer on defense, we need to have abilities. Stats barely matter in this game (once you hit a certain threshold, 85-90)... abilities are EVERYTHING. I cannot state that or emphasize that enough. OVR ratings Do. Not. Matter. You'll find 90 OVR cards that are better than every single Golden Ticket dropped back in Madden 24 (at least until tomorrow when Zero Chill boosts go away).
However, the principle remains consistent. In order to play defense, i've got as many Mid Zone KOs on the field as possible. Even more than the actual knock-out component from these type abilities, the improved reaction time is an even bigger deal, IMO. Without this, our DBs simply will not react in time. The community will constantly tell you that Pick (or Lurk) Artist is where to spend your AP, but if our guys aren't in proper position to make a play on the ball, no amount of pass catching abilities are going to help improve overall defense.
Beyond that, you HAVE to get some type of pressure on your opponent. So many kids have basically given up on defense, so their "philosophy" is to send 6 (or more) pass rushers, often simulating seven blitzers, by hovering over the line from a formation such as 4-3, or 3-4... sending the house each and every single down, hoping to overwhelm their opponents before a quick read can be made. SOMETIMES this works, but rarely... and typically only against weaker opponents. YMMV.
Please let us know any questions, i love to bullshit about Madden, but especially defense. Any asshole can move the ball this year, but defense requires a combination of luck and skill. And strong USER abilities to Switch Stick around the field taking away the open routes.

First of all I wanna say thank you so much for taking the time . Greatly appreciated. Either I never played a person like that or this is post me selling all my zero chills and building a squad to last. But I use man a lot and swap in zone to keep it fresh. I usually use dime or nickel so please tell me if I'm doing it wrong. But I got to my h2h sb and played a great player was a 4 point game. But when I started this new season. Omg I have played nothing but sweats. Like I feel like a scrub for not being able to stop these people and I love Madden i play for fun . But the past 4 games have been hell.
Thank you everyone for the help and input

Love the analysis here.

Ahhh, shit I'm such a Boomer. I typed out a decently long reply (from mobile) but ended up switching tabs and taking my sweet ass time, trying to find you a link and POOF... my comment box is now empty.
I was just rambling anyway. To briefly summarize, I'm not good at Switch Stick. It's taken months for it to even begin to click for me, but watching MCS Zero Chill finals taught so much. Getting to see how players at a high level approach the game is 100x better than anything I could hope to offer.
Maybe the community can correct me if I'm wrong here, or perhaps offer alternative, better suggestions, but I believe Millz is widely regarded as a Madden defensive mastermind. A lot is about understanding what route combinations regularly get open against your coverages and being able to react, if not anticipate what the opponent is trying to do. Breaking the habit of putting my USER on a blitz angle was first huge hurdle for me, then learning the sensitivity of the analog stick, getting the feel for the relative directions. I'm still not particularly good at it, so I'd be eager to hear anything that has helped you. Been playing a lot of squads lately, my teammates constantly bail me out on those corner routes so I haven't been forced to git gud just yet. Not for lack of effort, though. I'm definitely stronger on defense than O, my team is above average and run pretty basic Cover 4 scheme with some variation. Bend, don't break and try to keep everything under us, maybe Hit Stick into a fumble if we're lucky. Sorry I'm not better equipped to help, definitely a weaker part of my game.
