Thing is, there hasn't been a legit art department since liek uhhh M23 cycle, i believe.  EA basically fired anyone and everyone on that team and began leveraging artificial intelligence to come up with this stuff.  That's why ALL of the cards this year are basically just a photo of the player with some bullshit abstract designs or splashes of color slapped on top.  It allows them to crank out a large volume of content with essentially zero actual effort.  Employees aren't going to pay themselves, gotta keep those business expenses down so you can focus on what truly matter... profits / pack sales.

If you are talking about the font choices on the new uhhh Team Pass Call of Duty style monetization bullshit, our entire squads team talked for ~5 minutes last evening about how difficult it was to read and make out player names now.  The "design" choices that are being made here are liek the boss hired his teenage kid who sketches on his/her iPad to churn out content.

It's really bad, pretty egregious -- but with all the other MASSIVE issues with gameplay, it's hard for me to find the energy to gripe about any of the lipstick they continue to try and put on this bloated Madden pig.  I started going through the patch notes yesterday and trying to compare directly with the gameplay experience and i'm convinced that at least 50% of the shit they put into the patch notes are straight up lies, or simply do not work as described (or intended).  To call them incompetent would be far too gentle.

At this point, basically the entire Madden team has been reassigned to work on Madden 2026, i doubt there's more than a bare bones staff.  This patch was surely finished long before Xmas break and dropped on us just now.  We'll be lucky to get one or two more meaningful updates to the game, but obviously this is just a random guess, i have no knowledge or actual information.

It’s bad because the Super Bowl 59 art is bad irl. They are just matching what the NFL put out for this year

I agree, it’s 2025 and ea has all the resources in the world to make these cards look nice. I understand the gameplay is much harder to work on but the card art is something kids in middle school and high school can do. It’s kinda ridiculous

I usually don't complained about the art really but the colors are so distracting.
