Niche chemistry boosts or trading away attributes for AP discounts would have been a great decision to face in October or November. It was doomed releasing when it did. Not to mention that the name was atrocious.

They've only been working on gameplay for about a decade or two so let's reevaluate our expectations and give EA some time to get things right.

Did anyone here watch the "It's in the Game: Madden NFL" series on Amazon Prime?

I've only watched the first two episodes, but I noticed that they rarely discuss gameplay, marketing, and the game "looking" authentic, not necessarily playing authentic.

I still need to finish watching the last two episodes, but so far, it doesn't look like their focus is on gameplay.

Regarding AI, there's no question that it can be a powerful tool. EA's efforts to use AI illustrate only that they have no idea how to effectively leverage it.

Will the computers initiate a takeover of the world? Only if the programmers tell it to. The problem with AI is that they'll weigh available data (meaning 'data made available by the programmer', through algorithmic weighting), and take permitted action (meaning 'actions available according to the decision tree permitted by the programmer), sometimes without human intervention. Every example of an unrealistic football outcome in Madden is a reminder that there are incompetent programmers with enough access to computers to make life miserable for millions of people. Malicious coding might also be involved in any future 'AI takeover', but in many cases, there are too many non-explicit limitations imposed on AI coding that can leave the door open for an intended action.

It has to correlate to the irl playoff theme, so idk

All I was saying is that it’s much easier to design some card art rather than work on gameplay. Idk where you’re trying to go with this? The gameplay isn’t that bad, it’s better than any other football game ever made.

I completely agree with everything you said, I know that sarcasm doesn't always come across when reading. 

I started playing when it was Madden NFL 97 and I've seen the good and the bad.

This game "looks" incredible, but the gameplay is far from Simulation - EA claims Madden is a true Simulation.

They claim to have introduced AI into the Defense back in Madden NFL 95, yet here we are in 2025 and the Defense still can't adjust to Meta plays.

For example, every player has a Play Recognition rating, but if you call the same play for an entire game, the Defense will not adjust to shut the play down. 

Can you say this would be true in the NFL?  Could you call the same play every down?  How would the Defense adjust?

EA doesn't seem to prioritize the thing that matters most - Gameplay
