As a fellow person who uses a variety of formations at 3300 rating I truly wish they make that change. It will bring some freshness/creativity to the game. 90% of ranked games people are using the same 2-3 formations they found on youtube/twitch. Its just laughable how people enjoy watching madden "pros" running same things over and over and copying each other.
As someone who doesnt watch creators on twitch/youtube, i'm curious... are there streamers that are just absolute cheesers/glitch exploiters being successful in getting followings out of that type of nonsense? or does the twitch/YT community do a good job of sniffing that out quickly and not encouraging it? Seems like it would be funny for some of these clowns to just own it, play the heel and do the opposite of what OP's talking about (and F them if they exist! lol).

The exact reason I made the suggestion. I'm at 6600 points and being matched up with more top players now and it's laughable that even when i've shown can stop the 3 formations they run, they will stick to it and get blanked because it's all they know. It's why I'm also happy to share how to stop these same formations that all of us are seeing now.

Watch an MCS tourney and you'll see they all do the exact same thing to the point where EA will add in patches to stop it. Perfect example is the audible flip play. Every single player in MCS did it on every single play, so the following week what does EA do, change it so you can't audible until everyone is down on the line. I'm a huge fan of them seeing things that are not a part of real football and making them no longer work or work to the advantage of the opponent if you're going to spam them, cause that's how real football works. Before they updated that flip play audible, I had already suggested to my contact at EA that they charge stamina to flip a play running across the field every single play would drain tf out of even the most in shape pro football player. I'm really hoping I get a more in depth discussion directly with the Madden team because I have a whole list of suggestions that would make football knowledge more valuable in the game rather than Madden gaming knowledge. The game should be about skills, the strategy, scheming, and so on should be about football knowledge, not how to expose the programmings weaknesses, and this is coming from a programmer.
hackthacode said:Because in real life football, when you call a hot route or any adjustment you are now giving SOME signal to the defense that they did not have when you broke the huddle. Watching tape is exactly what allows defensive players to know when a hot route is called or what it might be, or a hand signal or really anything. Ever seen the clip of cam newton calling a hot route at the line and then clay matthews calls out exactly what he called which was a wheel route and cam yells back "oh you been watching tape" then audibles the entire play and says watch this! That's how real football works, so if you're going to call tons of adjustments every single play at the line the defense is going to pick up on what those signals are. You think an offense is going to be able to change the signal on a hot route every single series? HELL NO! This is just football 101, if you could get away with this Peyton Manning would have, guy did more adjustments at the line than anybody and he NEVER hot routed every single receiver every single play, that's just stupid meta shit.
The reason they don’t make many adjustments at the line is because they have no limits in play design, but in game we are limited to the plays ea gives us. In no world should you be limited in what you can out on the field because it’s not “real football”. As I said the game is not real life there is no film or scout team reps. Also there is no reason I should be limited in a competitive game because of “realism”, save that for casual modes. The best idea would be to make a separate game mode with these changes for people who want a dumbed down version of the game. If your horrible hot route idea was added then create a play would be needed and everyone knows that would cause huge problems. If you want real football sign up for a league and play.
I’d be interested in this for sure. Any basic tips that you don’t see people do a lot of that would improve their game? I try to use 6-7 formations on offense and mostly match coverage on defense
I need all the help I can get PLEASE!! ANYONE!!

Technically speaking this version of the game is dumbed down. Because its missing some crucial features. But i see your point. To each their own.

aha.... got it.... thanks man. so it sounds like the top dogs are in fact taking advantage of programming weaknesses but not explicitly calling it out. my undeducated ass was just curious if there are essentially heels that exist that are literally holding streams and calling out these exploits theyre doing.... "watch me beat this clown... this is how i'll do this glitch... watch... boom! TD.".... dudes who just want to play the villain and whether or not those types would amass a following ha!.... essentially, are there streamers that proudly own up to being "cheesers."
Reason: fat thumbs

In case you haven't noticed, every year when Madden comes out they try to add updates to match the realism of football, not match what allows gamers to expose programming flaws. I know for a fact they are sick of the constant hot routing at EA and have been looking for the right update on it for awhile. Idk if you ever played football, but you get a playbook, that's what you have to work with and hot routes and protection changes, the same limits you are given in EA, should they update playbook more frequently to match football realism? Yes absolutely, and I know that's something they are already working on. I'm in the top 100 and I'm telling you this shit needs to stop. I know how to stop all the bunch formations, that's why I'm in top 100, I know how to stop the hot routes, but it makes the game not fun to worry more about pre snap adjustments than actual game skill like stick or lurking. Most scheming is done pre huddle break in real football, it's how I play in Madden, and it works. You are not being penalized for hot routes in my suggestions but you are tipping the defense, which i'm sorry, that's not just real football that's real life. If you show nothing i know nothing, soon as you start communicating with ANYONE and i can see, now know SOMETHING.

using the proper run scheme. If they shoot the gaps use a fullback formation or a pulling guard. If they like to lurk use qb option plays, if they stick in coverage run zone scheme. This will get your opponent frustrated and not be able to just predict pass constantly.

No they act like everyone else cheeses but then you'll see them with their own version of cheese. When you look at the top Madden players does it look likke any of them even played HS football? These aren't guys that have football knowledge, they have madden knowledge and look for programming flaws and holes, and then expose them til they get patched and on to the next. This isn't every single player but i'd say 70% of the top 100. Some things people call spam and aren't though. For example using stunts is not spam because it can be stopped easily, just most people don't know how to. That stem corner for example was definitely spam and it's why EA updated it last patch. Right now the spam I see is bunch with a specific hot route combo, but i've learned how to kill that quick lol
Hey man... great idea.
I used to post in the "Gameplay Discussion" section of these forums, my setups for stopping a variety of cheese plays that drones would often run in Madden. That was years ago. But I took great satisfaction in developing my own ways of stopping certain things and then sharing that with the community. Sounds like you're taking this to a new level.
Grats on being Top 100. I gave you a follow on Twitch and will be looking for your streams.
Will likely run a stream in a few hours of playing a ranked match so I can have something to verify to everyone that I'm top 100 in ranked and H2H and not just blowin smoke lol

I got you bruh! If there’s specific things you’re looking for let me know. I’m torn between starting with affective run scheme, how to stop trips bunch, or proper team/scheme building. Would love suggestions from the forum.
