Im a lazy Madden player. I just want the game mechanics to work some what decent. I've come down to where I'm usering a d-line men. Praying to God my safety doesn't get cooked. Usering the LB or SubLB isn't working anymore. Im with you this game has become toxic and not the thrill I used to get.
NickyRozay said:I think yours and others view on “real football” is it pertains to Madden will always be your issue. The game is not, and will never be, “real football.” It’s a video game. You can’t expect it to play like the real sport, and you CERTAINLY can’t expect the player base to treat it like a real sport lmao. If you come into the game with that same mindset, you will always be disappointed and frustrated. Don’t like it, don’t play it. I’ve been a huge basketball/NBA fan my whole life. My teenage years I played the hell out of every NBA 2k game. Now the game plays like shit so I stopped buying them about 4 years back. Haven’t missed it since
As frusterating as it may be, I 100% agree with this
Madden will never be a true football game
Madden starts out as a more simulation version game at the beginning of the year, that shifts towards an arcade version over the year.
By the time end game is here, the game is almost full arcade with very few traces of simulation
This happens both through abilities/X factors being RNG based, which makes overall ratings meaningless
I mean, remember how people were using 92 OVR Unstoppable Players during the super bowl promo because they had always on X Factors, over 96 OVR players
But the BIGGEST issue is people discover glitches in the way the game is coded, then share vidoes on youtube how to take advantage of these glitches
AND EA DOES NOTHING TO PATCH THESE
RPOs are always way too powerful...a 5'-9 160 LB WR should not be able to 100% block a much bigger Line backer - just because its an RPO
RPOs also someone work around regular abilities like Inside Stuff etc
And with the Loop Blitz...you should be able to preplay assign who you want your blockers to block...similar to hot routes but for lineman
The fact that the loop blitz still works after all this time - just shows EA puts no effort into fixing gameplay
I was just about to ask about madden 26, i quit after 23, and wanted to come back, but sheesh looks like our precious game has only gotten worse

I really appreciate your input and how you articulate it on this site . It’s a shame how advanced technology has become yet this game just continues to be a disappointment every year when it comes to the way, the game play is designed and it seems to be a very lazy approach every year with very little explanation on what any of this stuff means in the game. I made a response on this site a day or so ago that we are all guessing and assuming what the stats and abilities do because we have never directly got official information from anyone over at EA what certain stats and thresholds do or what triggers certain things in the game with abilities or without
Here’s an example, you get more information on this site about they’re throwing archetype then in the actual game itself who would know what archetype the quarterback is unless you come to this site? I also can’t wrap my head around the fact that you need to put abilities on a card once it’s obtained its highest stat, which is a 99. Why do i need my Randy Moss card to have a better chance at catching when he has a 99 catch? It just doesn’t make sense.
Facts, if every player is a 98/99 , and their stats are also 98/99, then what's point of abilities and when I said something about abilities a while back people bashed me saying I don't know football because abilities run the game, but in the same answer they complain about a player stats only being in 95/96 but they a 99 overall, it's either this game is based off stats or abilities it can't be both, I get like some abilities do make a huge difference in the game like tank, angry runs, and zone KO, the rest i think are just for show..and do actually nothing in the game..
Then stop playing. Simple 😂

Thanks for your remarkable insight.

You’re very welcome.
Agreed OP...been wanting EA Madden Dev crew to make a Sim Head to Head option mode - with play call limit restrictions and limited AP boosts.
Then the Out of Position & Glitch Play Spammers can stay in the basic MUT "Anything Goes" Mode to spam with the RPO & Loop Blitz dorks to their hearts content, while the rest of us play SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES FOOTBALL.

WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO COMPETITION?!!!
I had to slog through a game that was honest at first, but when things got tight, dude resorted to varied and mostly-automatic RPO's. I kept him out of the end zone, and drove the field afterward. But what the freakin' heck?!! If the dudes aren't cheating me out of a hard-earned win, the game is. This is not a forced error. It's just a coin flip. And this crap has been happening to me all year.
What system are you on? 😂😂😂
That slick sounds like me

All you have to do is go out there yourself and user the slot corner to the side of the rpo and then immediately switch stick to your normal user. Just the fact that you’re out there will scare them into not even wanting to throw it. Rpos are actually really easy to stop this year because everyone knows the formations of all the good rpos. Once you see that formation just be ready for it. In the beginning of the year it was really hard to stop because no one knew the formations and it was hard to predict

That sounds like the best idea... I need to start using switch stick.. I am not comfortable at all with it so I don't use it.. oh boy... Thank you man.
Me too I'm just about done with this game. Hanging by a thread at this point.

It’s not really that hard to defend you just need to understand your players roles. I guarantee your trying to guard it with the defender that is the read key and no matter what you do he never will. I do disagree with that 100% if I tell him to play a flat of man up it should override what his base assignment was but unfortunately it won’t.
Go into practice mode call those Rpos and pick defensive plays you like to call vs it and see who has the R icon above them. Then understand remember the wr on those flat plays will block based off who is closest to the side line.
easiest was to stop it almost every time call cover 4 out of a dime formation, move the safety outside your slot cb that is on the hard flat. This will cause that slot wr to go block the saftey instead leaving your slot cb to guard the flat and blow it up

Ok i need to make sure i call dime then. Thank you man. I appreciate all these tips.
