I personally believe these Crystal players are bad for the game & shouldn't have been released. Speed especially early on but also for Theme Teams is super valuable. What really causes a problem is the fact that these cards are essentially $300 cards from step offers. I think it would be smart for EA to pull the rug under their consumers and remove the +1 speed. It will absolutely kill the value of these cads and probably make those people who bought points or spent the coin on these cards mad but it is best for the games future. Without these Crystal players getting the chem on their next card it almost makes any future cards of PS2, Gibbs(TOTY example), Barkley, Micah(later today) almost useless. For those who don't have the crystal players it won't affect them but those who do & rely on that +1 speed there is no reason to replace them for the upgraded version. At the very least these cards should have never had 32 team chems. If someone wants the +1 speed, the trade off should be building the TT around those cards actual IRL team chems. Knowing EA, nothing will change.

they can’t pull the plug on them now without refunding coins or points spent, that would be false advertising since they never said they had an expiry date
personally i don’t see a problem with it, the cards lose value like every other card does over time. i don’t really think you should be able to use the same boosted card all year. with that being said i dont think you should have to pay $250 to get the cards in the first place

Let me makes this clear if you are NMS, Then you only paid money for the game, and nothing else! If I want to buy points, then I buy points, I play what I want when I want. I like the +1 speed, and have no intentions of giving that up! Why would I, I spend money on this game, and I look forward to next month's crystal players. Is there a possibility that Barkley, and the new Parson card just be an alternate to crystal card for the NMS players.
You are missing the point entirely.
EA is now releasing a new version of Micah Parsons, which is arguably the best defensive card in the game. In order to use this card, you would have to take out Crystal Micah from your lineup, sacrificing the speed boost.
1. There are so many other players that need cards. Why would they recycle Micah already? (Greed is the answer)
2. Why wouldn't new iterations of these players have a power up slot for the Crystal cards that people, like you, paid good money for, especially since the game has only been out a couple of months? (Greed is the answer)
I would like to propose that we now spell "greed" as "grEAd".
It just sucks specifically for Cowboys, Packers, Eagles, and Broncos fans. Put a power up on the new cards where you can insert the crystals and maybe have it that you lose the 32 team chems and only get team specific chems and the boost. This isn't really effecting anyone else too much.
I’ll bet there will eventually be Crystal releases that include an LTD with the ability to contribute +2 components to any past Crystal chemistry. Problem solved: New item is instantly desirable, and personas for past Crystal releases become free for non-Crystal iterations.

It's frustrating to refresh, refresh, refresh, and then finally realize the item has just been purchased, but I was never going to have a chance at it.
FACTS!! Its so annoying to try and get the good deals just to find out it has already been bought. I'm running a one man band with my controller in one hand and this site refreshing the prices in the other hand haha
I'm wondering if they are even bringing the companion app back. They might just keep it this way.
Yeah it sucks. I want parsons but it will hurt to replace the other parsons with parsons and lose the +1 speed from the first parsons.

I think it is extremely clear EA have realised the mistake of putting plus 1 speed into the game so early, they’ve now release Saqoun who is RB1 aside from Gibbs (who is unobtainable for most) and micah who is the best defensive card in the game arguably…
and both will not get an upgrade path to enable their crystal chems… EA is trying to get people off their cards. Almost guarantee Surtain gets a most feared card which is the best DB in the game
what’s your stance on this? i have all three crystals from that drop, and i don’t see why else they’d be going about it the way they are as in prior years the let us put these motivator cards into newer versions within an upgrade
Luckily rn I’m not running a TT with any of the crystal players on it. But I’m thinking about switching to the SB winning TT in February (bc I run a raiders TT every year and it gets boring using the same one). so I have to pray that the eagles don’t win bc I wouldn’t be able to use their top RB. I also find it annoying they already released 2 crystal RBs who will be obsolete in a month or two and just take up roster spots
Even among mut things its a 1st world problems thing. Ltd Parsons of course will be better than travon walker, von miller, whatever edge, but not worth losing the +1 spd yet, and maybe never. I grinded for coins and bought on those dips because theyre just so necessary it feels like. The speed and the coverage boost is worth it until anything really changes. They must know they screwed up the speed creep by having cards like this
I think it’s just a choice for people to make. Realistically most cards released in the first month arnt meant to be used all year (in the EA model of inching up to 99 over). Cards become obsolete as more are released except for some bench fillers for your TT. They probably should not have released the crystals so early but it’s hard to say THEY even think it’s a mistake. They still have them in the 84-85 overall packs and did the PSII redux so more people can get them. Giving them a power up makes no sense for game balance, people just want the best of both worlds. I like that they are trying to tempt us with a Parsons on PEDs. The crystals are nice but it’s dumb when everyone is running the same cards, game needs just a little more variety in terms of what makes a stacked squad.

I'm missing the point! I am building my Mut team how I want! I said what I said about EA and I'll leave at that. I will continue to buy what I want when I want. I know that the best combo in the game as of right now is TT with crystal enhancement topped off with a promo strategy card! As for EA being greedy. It's just business, the prices in the Mut store has always been this way since it began. If you want EA to change or improve there product, then do something about it, or you can just complain about the game like everyone else changing nothing. As for me I will just patiently wait for the next crystal step up offer.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH.
Besides everything you are not gonna win more games because of +1spd. It's so not worth it.
I think ultimately, people will want what they've had in the past. The genie is out of the bottle. EA should've never removed PUP cards. They should've balanced around them. Carrying on chems from cards you had and letting people keep their investments in rare cards encourages engagement in the game/economy. I think its natural for people to be annoyed that it doesn't work they way it would have in years past.
That said, totally understand peeps not caring that whale card players dont get everything they want. But I think the game would be better if cards could let you upgrade over the year, for all players
