Being completely honest I had my own scheme for the longest and was winning a large amount of games before I started playing really good opponents and had to buy thrones ebook which was pretty worth it
this is my first year playing madden semi-seriously/trying to learn the game and formations and stuff. ive had it before and just messed around with friends but yea I learned basically everything I know from youtube so far

I am NMS and have about the best team you can reasonably have without spending, and yet I am consistently dumbfounded and frustrated by how incompetent and unreliable my players are. Any scheme I may come up with relies on my AI guys being minimally competent at doing their assignments, and yet DBs with 99 zone coverage and 98+ speed cannot play bare basic minimum competent zone defense. So even if I want to come up with a zone defense scheme, I can't do anything that works unless i can divine how EA will glitch out the mechanics.
Call man coverage with press and inside shade to defend a drag route? Nope! Because halfway through the coverage the DB will break off and rush the QB for no reason, leaving the WR uncovered. If I know my opponent is going to run a short outside slant with his WR1 at the goal line, I should be able to stop it with press coverage and outside leverage with a top tier CB. NOPE! Not in this game. The WR will get to the corner of the end zone wide open while my CB does lord knows what.
Call contain against QB I know will roll outside? Nah, my edge rushers just won't do it.
On outside run plays, my OL guys with run protector ability will consistently block absolutely nobody and allow defenders who are stacked in the middle of the box to race through the line and catch my 98 OVR RB from behind for a loss. How can I scheme runs with no reliable blocking from the best OL guys in the game?
Somehow, an opponents safety lined up in the middle of the field 10 yards off the line can run 20 yards and shut down a 0 yard flat route before my faster TE can even get to his spot.
The only "scheme" that matters is being great at usering and switch sticking, because this is EA, where it's totally reasonable for a LB lined up over center to stop the middle run while also being able to miraculously sprint back into coverage and intercept an outside go route against a 99 speed WR.
The game mechanics are just brain dead.
100% agree it shouldn’t take a bunch of adjustments to stop certain plays that you know is coming. If I man up the bubble screen or hard flat that inside cb and tell them to only worry about the pass it should be stopped every time. Let them then beat me on the run because that’s what I’m willing to give up and have my user be responsible for.
Or the contains like you said just won’t contain let the downside of that be the qb will have all day in the pocket but most that run wild with there qb can not sit in the pocket and pick a defense apart.
It sucks there logic of all these adjustments to stop simple things you know is coming a cover 2 should take away what you want to to and for them to actually beat the weakness in that defense not just dumb out the AI over and over again

You and me both starting each game with play action roll out
Hey guys, off topic but idk how to create my own thing, but why does ea keep banning people for buying players to quicksell for training, snow etc
Feel like have the people that said “I made my own” watched a YouTube video then changed one and route and said they made their own lol
legit like the eagles so use their playbook
Used miami since sept as i thought they had the best offense for eagles player skillset and it just stuck..
am i doing it wrong? seems like yall pay and have actual game plans?

I went to successful programs and learned it, I bought the Delaware wing t book and studied it. I spent quality time with Norv Turner. Long story short I took things I learned from others and used them. Now, due to a career shift I don’t coach football anymore and Madden helps fill that void (poorly at most times, but alas). I know what I like to run, but I also confer and find information on YouTube. That doesn’t make me any less of a man, or someone without honor. I’d put my football bonfides up against anyone’s short of Berkhart. I prefer to play football, but when my opponent starts the cheese fondue I know how to match it and embarrass them. Madden isn’t football it’s a facsimile of the game. Sometimes you need an answer that the YouTube guys already have readily available.
Why is it funny? It's a legit question that people apparently have a hard time answering honestly.
And I don't find your analogy to real life coaching and playbooks appropriate. Exploiting the game mechanics to produce unrealistic football outcomes is not the same as a well disciplined, properly coached team of high schoolers.
Bunch X nasty and 2-4 are the way to go.
but i will say all my defenders with bench press and shaded overtop always get fried by anyone on a go route

Apparently I was unable to convey my thoughts in a fashion you can understand. I don’t go out and cheese. But I also didn’t figure all of this out myself. Nor did I find offense in real life on my own. Less than 1% of the community can say they developed their Madden offense totally on their own without influence. But learning a system from YouTube doesn’t mean you are dirty, scummy, or any of the reason that make people lie about where they got their offense from. The feeling that people are ashamed of learning from YouTube is what I find funny. I hope this was appropriate for you.

Oh I understand perfectly fine. I just don't agree. Saying that running meta plays and making adjustments read out of an instruction manual (often regardless of what the opponent is calling) is in any meaningful way similar to coaching/scheming real life football is fucking laughable.
You must be too dense to understand my meaning. Nothing in football at any level is original. It is all derivative. I’m not wasting anymore time explaining myself to you. I’ve read your posts here and a clear pattern is discernible. Please ignore my posts as I will do the same to yours.

these results are approximately 4% accurate lol unless everyone that voted is just playing the cpu lol
