The first release of NFL Honors Players dropped today in Madden Ultimate Team with the Offensive, Defensive, and Comeback Player of the Year all receiving new LTD player items. The only non-QB finalist for Offensive Player of the Year, Vikings WR Justin Jefferson, took home the award after turning in 128 receptions, 1,809 yards, and 8 touchdowns this season. Jefferson also won the award for Moment of the Year with his incredible one-handed catch against the Bills in Week 10 on a 4th-and-18 play to keep the drive alive with under 2 minutes left on the clock and his team trailing. The Vikings would go on to win the game in overtime 33-30.
After leading the NFL in sacks this year with 18.5, 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa took home Defensive Player of the Year honors. NFC West QBs will have their hands full with Bosa for years to come as the youngster is just 25 years old. Speaking of NFC West QBs, many people thought it would be a rebuilding season in Seattle this year, but not Geno Smith. The former Jets, Giants, and Chargers QB replaced Russell Wilson in Seattle and proceeded to put up career-high passing totals of 69.8% completion percentage, 4,282 passing yards, and 30 touchdowns with just 11 interceptions. Geno did all of this while leading the underdog Seahawks to a 9-8 record and making the Playoffs.
