Blink of an eye and he is on the other side of the field. Worst speed boost glitch I have ever seen.

I think the speed boost is fine personally. But to be able to sit in a strong pass d and hover the DT to also shutdown the run is wrong imo

At least speed boosting is some skill, hover over DT eliminates half of run plays
You can always tell who is the person who abuses the speed boost because they will defend it. EA programmers should definitely remove both (as well as the scum kick) but they are likely spending their time screwing up Madden 27 at this point. Unfortunately once it is in the game, it is part of the game and there is no point in blaming the people who (ab)use it. The issue is given the product, is it worth for us to keep playing it as the only reason EA would change is if we stop. I would say that the closest I had to stop playing it was with the KO issue in Madden 24 and luckily they adjusted it enough by 25 to make the game playable. So far while I really hate these glitches, it has not been bad enough to stop playing but fortunately have not run into them enough to make me quit (I do not use any of the 3, but that has more to do with both poor skill level and that they are not what makes the game fun for me).

Scum kicking has been around for years shit is extremely frustrating but you can definitely beat it. Speed boost is frustrating but I use it in certain situations but definitely not something I abuse unless I come across a cheeser then idgaf ill speed boost all game. The glitch that pisses me off the most is the field goal glitch the middle parts like the red sea and they block your PATs and FG's

That is the one glitch I have never ran into, but I never rush my kicks so the defender cannot time them (although I have seen them try).
no such thing as speed boost just real life abilities translating into an arcade game

Moving a stick and pressing a button in a peculiar sequence isn't a skill. Speed cheating in the hands of someone abusing it from the right series of plays is virtually unstoppable.
At least hover cheat just means you can't run a subset of offensive plays.
In both cases the offender is worthy of a permanent ban from head-to-head for unsportsmanlike play.

Scum kick is easy to defend, just user your kick returner, run up and catch it
You have a good chance of breaking TDs also
It only works on people who dont expect it and arent paying attetion

I think you can counter this by untargetting the user or using max protect, base allignment

I hope you know that you can move your return man to the spot they are going to scum kick it to before they even kick it. You can easily stop the scum kick. As for speed boosting there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s in the game for a reason and they even supported during the MCS. Nothing scum about the speed boosting. It’s a skill gap
I know about moving the returner. There are few enough scum players that do it though that I usually don't do it automatically the first time. Just really annoying.
I disagree about speed boosting although agree that anything in the game is fair game. However, it is my feeling that if it is part of the game it should be in the instructions along with every button we need to push. However, just like the KO's in 24 (which were not a glitch, just made the game worse), it does not make the game play fun for most of us (which is why everyone complains). Makes more sense to just upgrade jukes and spins, which the good skill players use impressively, but seem more inline with what you would expect from the game. Remember that Madden sells approximately 5-7 Million copies of the game per year (logical guess although they do not report their actual numbers based on the data available). It is likely safe to say that less than 0.001% use speed boosting and that not one person would not buy the game next year if they stopped speed boosting but there are plenty that would love for it to go away.
