Between that, the bad game play, and pack odds I think it might be time to sit the next year out. I do not see EA making the acquisition of cards more palatable next year for the community. 5-10 million coins for various LTDs is freaking ridiculous.
I went balls deep into CFB and Madden 25. I regret it because I played CFB sparingly once we got to the Most Feared stage of Madden. And all the money spent on packs and random offers just isn't worth it. To hit a 99 overall team and uninstall this shit every year. I love the competitive nature of online gaming. But, I think really is time to give my mind and my wallet a break from the cycle of grinding to 99 and keeping up with the competition.
Agreed, i'm right there with you, my good man. Pay to win game mechanics have absolutely zero business being part of any title that claims to be an online, head to head, competitive type game, at least not if anyone cares about fair and balanced (and hopefully FUN) gameplay. I have been a PC gamer most of my adult life, but after having a child and wr0king remotely, it came to the point where i needed to differentiate between good screen (being plopped on the couch, in front of the playstation) and bad screen (tethered to my desk for wr0k)... so now we're PS5 gamers and I found my way back to Madden `22, before discovering Ultimate Team partway through the M23 game year. Now i'm spending 1000-1500+ hours annually on a bad, broken, buggy ass, inconsistent mess of a game and keep hoping that the experience will be fun.
I'm having a blast with Squads gameplay, but it's so much effort to try and align schedules and even more difficult to find a decent group of guys to game with. If you enjoyed College Football, M26 might be okay. I just keep repeating myself, but player movement is vastly improved. The rest just seems liek a lot of wasted effort on presentation and things that don't actually change or improve the overall gameplay experience. Lipstick on a pig.
