BTJ, he’ll replace Julius peppers at safety and Rodgers is just fine on the pack TT
No wrong answer but with a 40 TT you can get the free season 6 Paul Krause to 99 speed with better man coverage and play rec stats than BTJ. You have to pay 2 mil for a QB with the stats of Maye. I’ve been using case keenum and am convinced strong arm type QBs are the best. To have one at 97 speed with better power and accuracies than LTD Jayden Daniels is too hard to pass up.
No reason to get Drake Maye unless you are a Drake Maye fanboy IMO. To have a safety you could put in multiple spots , that many ability discounts and have that much speed for free seems like the no brainer option in the long run.
NickyRozay said:You need all of the MCS cards (Wilson, Derwin, Simmons, Mukuamu, Lamar, Evans) and then you'll be able to put them into a set and get a fantasy pack of a choice between Maye and BTJ.
How do you get these cards?
Dont want either. Hopefully can
qs it

I saw where if you watch the stream you get your pick of up to 2 cards that you may have missed, so watch the stream and you should be straight
Definitely Maye. Gonna be ridiculous on a Patriots Theme Team. And has Baker Mayfield release. BTJ is nice but too many good safeties coming out.

I think BTJ is the one most will choose since he's 98 speed and 6'3" and more versatile on defense (can play up top, be a user, play corner), but the Drake Maye stats and having Baker's release is so damn tempting to me.
What's everyone else's thoughts?
It won't be long before we have DBs that all come equipped with Universal Coverage X-factors, as baked on passive abilities... for example, Deion Sanders.
Even if you could make a Golden Ticket QB right now, today, I'm not sure how much you could improve upon Drake Maye. There's never going to be a better, faster QB Release style. I guess they could give us the god/quad stack for less, but even then, what offensive abilities are going to be more impactful? We already have 4AP Angry Runs that never goes away.
That's sort of my thinking and logic. Both are absolutely fantastic cards, there is no wrong choice... but for my money, I think the QB is end-game. In March.
That's a kind of serious question, perhaps I lack imagination, but how could or would YOU improve upon a custom QB if given complete freedom to choose, within the current constraints of MUT as we know it⁉️

Ignore the picture and name on the card, pretend it's James Richard Garoppolo, or Eli Manning, or whomever is your favorite player to wear #10.
It's THE best QB in the entire game, with end-game ability stack, which just happens to be the most important position in all of sports. No DB is going to improve or impact your squad as much as an elite QB.
It's your team, choose whoever tickles your fancy, but I believe your logic may be a bit flawed, or at the very least, short-sighted. Think and look forwards, not backwards. DBs will get better. We're basically at peak endgame for QB play. As long as stats remain capped at 99.
Or perhaps I'm missing something entirely, I'm genuinely interested in spending the next week flushing out this topic with the community. Both are fantastic cards, clearly best in their respective positions.

I mean the same release with better discounts and passive xfactors like angry runs on that penei sewell card from earlier this year
none, because I join Madden late and missed all but one MCS stream
Brian Thomas Jr. I don't have a slot in the lineup for Drake Maye for as long as I'm running an Eagles theme team.

You know what was crazy last year was the Tom Brady Tribute item with 0 AP on just about everything. And yet by the end of MUT 25, he wasn't near the best quarterback.
If Drake Maye has Dots as a passive ability, that could sway me. Otherwise, he's a quarterback with a fast release and a good ability stack that will soon be outdated, especially if EA decided to move in the other direction with AP allocations, which they have done before. And once he's not your starter, he'll be out of your lineup in favor of Eli Manning, Tom Brady, or another quarterback with multiple team chemistry buckets.
I don't think either card is truly end-game. I'm just looking for the one that keeps me near even with everyone through mid-April.

That's kind of my point, there isn't anything truly superior. Same release, same abilities... but cheaper. The fastest cards in the game will only be +2 SPD (on TT). Add some gimmicky, fun-factor stuff on top (size/weight/Truzz/Angry Runs) but there isn't anything currently in-game that could make for a better actual quarterback.
I can definitely and easily envision better DBs, heck Deion Sanders already gets a superior ability stack and he's been out nearly a month. Just how I'm thinking about the choice. Good luck, clearly both are elite.

Dots is quite nice, loved Joe Montana last year with that passive ability, but after 3+ months with Baker, Josh and now Josh again, I've gotten pretty comfortable with that ultra fast release and I'm often able to throw perfect blue passes on a decent number of snaps. But thanks, that would be a definite and noticeable improvement I hadn't considered.
