Broke Terms of Service, not really anything you can do to get them back. It's just a game, move on, unless you spent money to get those coins it's not that big of a deal.

I acknowledged I broke the rules, I also didnt realize I was when I did. Sorry I didn’t think it had to be so black and white?
A more appropriate comparison would be saying, if you stole from a store but you didn't know there was a law against stealing, should you be punished.
The answer is yes, since you should know what the rules/laws are. Just because you didn't read them doesn't mean they are not enforced.
a similar thing happened to me last year.
In Madden 24, fairly early on (maybe the first third of the season - first half at most) my son and I had both of our accounts banned from the auction house for the entire year/game.
I had a Titans Theme Team and had no use for other players so I would sell them to him. And vice versa if he got a Titan.
brother of us played H2h or anything except Challenges and Solo Battles so there was no real nefarious Intent. It was just for fun.
They did not care. I pleaded my case and stated how we don’t even play against other people etc. They said the ban stood. :(
it sucks but all you can do is learn from it.

more like if I bought something from a store, then gave it to a friend. these black and white analogies are not as effective as you guys think

You agreed to a EULA (end user license agreement) and TOS when you first booted up the game. In that agreement, it mentions that sharing/selling coins breaks it and you're susceptible to punishment, up to and including account termination.
You can't agree to a contract and then plead ignorance, it's not how things work.

I absolutely agree. The lack of compassion and empathy is insane to me. The me me me generation has spoken. And they care even less bout others than EA. I guess you deserve each other.
Genuinely appreciate this comment, thought I was going insane
They aren't wrong it's the hard truth. We understand you didn't know. Personaly I knew it was wrong just by reading your post. No one was disrespecting you just the truth . Just ask the one guy who posted on here about a ban. Im very surprised they didn't just axe your account. Yes I agree losing coins sucks. Hell I hate
When I buy a new card that depreciates . I feel for you but I wouldn't fight it. Cut your loss you learned you can't do it and move on. If you fight it. Hell they may just ban you . You never know with ea

Coins are coins and a game is a game, but if you read this thread you’d think I murdered someone the way the comments reacted, a bunch of bootlickers who haven’t developed beyond the law and order stage of morality

This is easily verifiable as all of my transactions have been to the same single account. Is there any way to appeal this for a first time offender? Or is there anyone at EA I could reach out to for legitimate help? The appeal process has been of no use.
i apologize and had not realized i was putting my account at risk, I was merely trying to help my brother out as I have much more free time than he does.
thanks!
Im sorry that you have to go through this with ea, but be glad that your coins got wiped instead of your account being banned.

EA honestly could care less. I went down that road myself and I didn't break the TOS agreement.
I filed 5 tickets to get my AH reinstated and I never heard back, let alone find out why my account was banned in the first place.
I had also spent money on the Season Passes and some the other promos, but it didn't matter to EA.
We have a community full of players, but it's hard to get people to band together for anything.
It's easier to come on the Forums to complain than to write the EA brass and voice your displeasure.
If you do a charge back, they will ban your entire EA account as retaliation, so if you are really upset and want to get back at EA, don't purchase any of their products again.
If you're gonna transfer coins EA has apparently sanctioned coin selling if you use 77 ken houstons. There is no other way to explain the blatant use of this card other than they gave coin websites permission to do it

It sucks but it could have been worse and got banned all together.

That’s been one my thoughts and obviously I’ve brought up before I think EA may additionally use that or similar cards for some janky economic management.
But what if they actually own some of those websites or some of those websites are run by people on the EA payroll with a side hustle? Your local MUT conspiracy theorist at your service.
Aliens are real and they are bringing Elvis home baby!
