Show me where it says MUT is an online only mode cause it still isn’t per say just more difficult and I play diamond dynasty too and earn 99 overall teams without playing online

No, there isn't a requirement but MUT is an online mode aimed at online players which is why most of the rewards come from playing online. Same thing as Diamond Dynasty, HUT, NBA MyTeam, Fifa, etc.
I doubt it's changing soon so you either adapt and learn how to play MUT online or play regular h2h or franchise. EA messes up a lot but this isn't one of those times. If anything, the online grinders need more rewards for playing online
