IMHO casuals do care about overalls and make up the largest part of the player base. By dumbing down TT impact on overalls it makes it harder to reach a 99 overall without being forced to chase 98/99 cards late in the season. This change I believe is intentional to squeeze more $ out of us.

My suspicion is reducing the impact on overalls makes us more likely to not rest on a card but to continue to spend time and money for a higher overall one. That would be consistent with EA's obvious priorities.
