Madden 23 on NEXT GEN systems (Xbox Series S|X / PS5) is the best it has been in the last 10 years.   And I've played all the Maddens since the first ones back in the 90s.

Now saying that, there are a lot of things broken in this game.   A lot of legacy failed gameplay from the past.  I'm not ignoring that.  But this is the first year when 'on the right track' is actually on the right track.

The best thing I like about M23 is the passing difficulty.  Now I understand there are so many people who complain that M23 has too many interceptions.   But they're not getting the point.

This is an NFL simulation.  Passing SHOULD BE Hard.  In Madden 23, if you don't make the right read or don't adjust to the defensive package pre-snap, you will and SHOULD get intercepted.    I absolutely LOVE what they did here.  They made the human user have to actually THINK and make the right decision when passing.

I like my NFL Simulation games hard.  It SHOULD be Hard to pass in the NFL.   This is not pee wee football.  I like being awarded when I correctly read the defense and make my adjustments.  And I like being punished when I don't.

I know I am in the minority and a lot of Madden gamers are casual and would like things a little more easier on the passing side.   I just think it's perfect .   It reflects how fast the Dbacks and LB's are in the NFL compared to say college football or any other level of football.

But even after I dismiss it, when I go to the Sets and filter on Nearest Complete, that same set keeps popping up.

NMS really can't compete, unless you spend countless hours flipping on the AH.  They also have continuously lowered rewards from challenges, SB's, and H2H to the point where building a coin stack is incredibly difficult without spending money or flipping.

I think the gameplay is actually the one redeeming quality.  There will always be a cheesy meta but the new passing system is great and feels very realistic and rewarding.
