Yeah I’ve thrown plenty of picks but my defense is a lot better than my offense so I usually end up getting the ball back.
SosaChamberlain said:throw enough picks you'll learn what works and what doesn't
Re: How Did YOU Learn How To Play This Game?

Very nice! I’ve had a pretty similar approach. Most of my learning has been through trial and error in H2H and I’ve stayed around in games even when I’m getting destroyed so I can learn from my opponents.
Moderator Sevein131 said:Skills trainer every year since madden 17 for those gold packs and trial and error in h2h.
I like to think I'm tough to go against Venetia I'm not running ebooks or YouTube plays out there. I do incorporate what my opponents beat me with into my own game so I have s variety of skills at my disposal.
Biggest skill gap is being able to make so many adjustments on the fly and have it result in a different look every down to keep your opponent on their toes.
How Did YOU Learn How To Play This Game?
Re: Linchpin, protected, linchpin

Stacking Defensive Rally by assigning it to multiple players does actually do something. Is it worth it in this game, no.

Can‘t say the same for Linchpin as I don’t know how you would be able to test if stacking it actually does anything.
9INE6IX said:Stacking of the same ability does nothing. Only need one.

Re: Which H2H Mode Would You Choose?

I agree with all of this. 95% of my offense is from coach suggestions. There are a few “go to” plays I will look for in certain situations or if I’m seeing specific coverages. I just can’t have fun running 3 or less plays the whole game.
Lacesout7 said:I agree if they coded the game to recognize the same play being called every down especially when I stop it 3 out of 4 times cool down would be unnecessary. I doubt that happens though lol. I’m thinking along the lines of how they do house rules, or I’d also like to see if they could implement something to where when a Play is being spammed and gets shut down once you can’t pick that play either for the rest of the game or for like 10-15 plays. I’m so tired of everybody running the same meta shit when you can be successful with running multiple plays out of multiple formations…you know like real football is played.

Agreed, I always enjoyed MUT Draft but they haven’t consistently updated it for years.
weplaythose said:I'd love a H2H with no abilities. But it would be great if they were to regularly update MUT draft again.

Like how some of the house rules used to be? Where you could only run the same play a few times per quarter or whatever? That’s not a bad idea.

I still think it would be great if the game could be coded so that the defense would recognize and reac…
Lacesout7 said:The one not listed…H2H cool down seasons
Re: Whats the best defense

Oh yeah I’ve played against this but never actually tried using it. Definitely seems like a good way to disguise what you’re doing and get tons of pressure from stacking the box.

I honestly came very close to finally buying a PS5 when all of the Co…
peatrick said:I'm actually coming out in this default Dbl Safety Go formation and then immediately audibling over to my desired play, such as the FS Zone Blitz, or DB Fire 2, perhaps even Cover 4 Quarters, because we can't blitz on every single down. This is a tremendous help in my experience.
I feel ya on the undecided future. I bought a second (Digital Edition) PS5 console late last summer, once i figured out that the versions of the game had been fully split between last generation and current consoles, uggh. For how much i've pissed away on this darn game, i could have a brand new OLED television in my bedroom. Things aren't getting any better, i'm not convinced EA is capable of improving the state of the game, they prioritize all the wrong things (greed over gameplay). Truly unfortunate, but nothing can or will change until that exclusive NFL license expires in May 2026. If EA renews or extends that, uggh we're all doomed.
Re: Which H2H Mode Would You Choose?

Yeah I agree, even in MUT23 when Quadfather dropped it was 1AP for his AKA Freight Train and 0AP for Persistent. After like 2-3 days EA realized it was way too powerful and they changed it to 2AP for the X-factor and 1AP for Persistent.

It seems…
Breakluna said:I wouldn't mind abilities and xfactors so much if there weren't so many on the field or if they appropriately costed. There's no way Bo's angry runs should be 1 ap for how impactful it is. A lot of the KOs should probably be more expensive as well for how much they alter the passing game
I guess what I'm trying to say is I wouldn't mind if we had a mode that was like the madden 20 era where you could only have 3 players with abilities. Well either that or a world where abilities/xfactors never get discounted. So you're stuck with the launch ap cap that practically enforces this. But I know that would never happen because it doesn't help EA sell packs.
Re: Whats the best defense

Sounds like you’re using the “Show Blitz” adjustment? I used to mix that in a while back but I kinda forgot about it.

I’m still on PS4 and MUT23 so I’m sure I will have a lot to learn if I ever decide to buy a new console. Seems to help offset the most glaring issues and weaknesses of Dollar, such as defending those TE streaks, or against the run, having both safeties walked up into the box is amazing. I don't know why in the past i had only been doing this out of Dime and primarily for run defense, but Madden is often counter-intuitive, or so it seems. Safeties almost NEVER get beat deep, even when they've been brought way down, so they're only 5+ yards off the line of scrimmage.
Gives me the ability to bring multiple types of pressure, either A-gap 5 man rush, a la FS Zone Blitz or the usual edge pressure, via DB Fire 2, sending both Slot corners, which typically will get home even if my opponent is doing the usual, sliding blocking protection right, keeping RB in to also block, etc. I'm slowly improving.
