Re: Just lost to a child who said it's his "first game"

This thread is a great example of why my blood boiled playing h2h this year! the game is so inconsistent this year let alone horrible gameplay zones not workin, drop picks, running game is nerfed and so many more.
V1kiNG8687 said:For starters, I consider myself to be a VERY good Madden player. I've won 6 Superbowls in head 2 head and have about a 78% winning record. I'm currently on legend. It seems like 99.9% of the games I lose are against terrible teams. I'm 1 game away from the playoffs .. And all of the sudden my opponents are coming in with terrible teams.. First player blows me out completely. His defense is like playing on All-Madden and mine is on rookie. I couldn't get any pressure against his 90 OVR rated team, and all of his receivers were wide open. Ended up quitting.
2nd game. Username is "DonaldTheDuck".. Highest rated player? 90. Rest of the team? 88 and under. Again, CPU is covering my receivers like white on rice.. He's consistently coming out in man.. So I bunch up and start running motion plays with CeeDee Lamb.. Got off 1 big one.. Then his d proceeds to completely shut everything down. I noticed he was doing some bad user play so I picked on him for a bit.. He caught on and moved to DT. After that, his CPU completely annihilated my mostly 96 OVR players. I had 2 picks which was used picks. But, if I didn't stop a play with my user, literally everything else was open against my 96 OVR rated CB's.
I had just lost 2 games in a row.. Against what seemed to be kids. They don't know adjustments, don't know football well at all it seemed to me. So I messaged Donald Duck and said "Careful, don't build a better team, you'll lose your boost". He responds; "Huh? What are you talking about? This is my first game, got it for a early Christmas present."
The reality sunk in. I was right. This was a child who just hopped on, ran random plays.. And destroyed me.. There is no purpose spending money on this game just for EA to have them play terrible. There's no point even getting better at the game. The realization that I've come to is EA could care less about anything but the bottom dollar. They know that if these newcomers get blown out, they don't continue to play. So they let them win.
What I really don't understand is.. Why not let the newcomers play each other? Why make the teams we've worked so hard to build, that we've spent so much money on.. Play worse? Essentially, not getting the team that we out right paid for. This, I consider to be lawsuit worthy if this is ever proven.
I apologize for this long rant, and I know this has already been touched on. But it was bothers me.. Especially since EA won't admit to it. And also, how some people simply don't think it even exists. With no boosts, it should be next to impossible for a much lower OVR rated team to beat you.. If you're HALF way as good as your opponent, you should win with ease. I really wish there were another NFL game to play. But as for now, I'm going back to regs and going to enjoy playing as my Minnesota Vikings.
Thank you if you read all of this. WE deserve better than this.
Re: Does your blood boil

Thanks man I appreciate the kind words wI’ll definitely see how the game plays in a few months. If not will see how mut 26 plays out.
peatrick said:You are right to demand more, this is a disappointment to say the least. I would encourage you to get 6 or 8 Mid Zone KOs onto your defenders, or at the very least, your DBs and try again someday in the future, when you are feeling sassy. Everyone else is going to tell you to run Pick Artist everywhere, but DBs will still swat and drop wide open picks, so why waste the AP when you can use various Zone KOs to improve reaction time from your defenders, which is equally if not more important than the actual knock-out portion of that ability. People are slowly starting to figure that out. A simple change makes a HUGE difference in overall gameplay.
Same on offense, try Baker Mayfield at QB with Gunslinger, Gift-Wrapped & Set Feet Lead, then go bonkers. Literally game-changing, difficult to overstate how impactful these abilities are.
But again, this bad, broken, buggy ass game will still be here if/when you decide to try again. I failed numerous attempts to step back, wasn't until my 4th, 5th or 6th try i finally managed to take a big step back, put some distance between myself and the game and learn to re-evaluate my approach to things. It just wasn't worth driving myself mad over. MUT had become more liek a bad job than entertainment or recreation. There's SO many other great games out there to try, or films, books, whatever. Best of luck in your endeavors. I'm ridiculously addicted to this shit, so take most of what i say with a grain of salt. I don't know any better.

What’s the point of playing then. Wish EA fixes the gameplay.
Cheese412 said:The solution is just not caring so much lol
Re: Does your blood boil

I appreciate your feedback man I’m gonna to continue on the h2h sabbatical . I am still plating solo seasons and solos. This year gameplay has been really a big disappointment.
peatrick said:I respect where you are coming from, but that's basically the reason WHY i'm here -- little else manages (for better or worse) to get the competitive juices flowing liek battling it out on the virtual gridiron. I'm not a young man, so my days of running around seeking adventure and excitement are behind me, but this allows me to hang out with my boys, play some smash mouth football from time to time and hopefully not want to smash my controller off the television in the process.
Quitting is the correct decision, this bad, buggy-ass, inconsistent mess of a "simulation" football game has cost me FAR more than I'd care to admit, in terms of time, money, resources... and most importantly, mental well-being.
I had to basically take August, September and October off... was still casually tinkering with my team, biding my time and waiting for the game to get to a state where i thought it was at least remotely playable without wanting to immediately choke a bitch anytime I engaged with Madden Ultimate Team. Things are definitely NOT good, the game is still an absolute mess, but the most glaring (route stem / speed glitches) and such have kind of been patched. Sadly, this is as good as it's going to get, at least unless/until the league decides to open up that exclusive licensing arrangement they've had with EA for decades now. Even then, it's not liek Take Two Interactive is going to be any better. Once Wall Street got involved and started seeing dollar signs (during peak COVID), these franchises are now seen as investment vehicles, more so than video games.
I feel the opposite about Zero Chill -- the game now feels more playable than ever, due to the introduction of 0AP abilities. I finally feel liek we've got a chance on defense. I hate the fact that abilities exist in this game, but they're an absolute necessity and cards do not play well without proper ability setup. There's some massive skill gap stuff going on here. I can instantly look at an opponent's ability setups and use that to judge their knowledge level of the current game. Abilities are some of THE most impactful stuff to exist in Madden Ultimate Team.
Re: Does your blood boil

mut 25 it’s the most inconsistent gameplay ever. Add to that No defense ( you have to use the meta blitz to get stops) players not catching picks. on offense the bump that your WR ruins the whole timing. Also the run game is bad.
joemainey said:Best of luck. I've been playing madden for 10+ years and gotta say this is the worst madden I've played. The DDA in this game is blatant. You can drop a pick and give up a touchdown the next play. Your WR is open but the diving animation makes him drop the pass because you dont have gift wrapped on. Dline insta sheds turn into Dline picks. Fumbling on conservative. Inaccurate passes, safeties slowing down and giving up streaks, your opponents defense becomes zeus when you try to convert 4th downs, your defense stands still on 2 pt conversions, the list goes on.....i think this game goes downhill with 0 AP abilities. IMO
Re: Does your blood boil

Yeah it’s worst in ranked and champs. I like how last year there was less pressure on everyone since the player reward was tied to the comp field pass. I hate how EA went back to this way.
chase276732393 said:For me abilities are fine i guess its just the damn instant pressure every play in ranked and that draft mode is just as bad. I get people want to win but you would think if they lose they die irl its so frustrating. In ranked its a constant loop of winning a game and then losing two more and i would like to think of my self as a decent player and i have a 93ovr team so i dont know what im doing wrong.
