I was responding to someone saying Lamar is HOF (he isn't) when I realized his, Joe Burrow's, and Josh Allen's stats are kinda mediocre compared to Mahomes. Mahomes has 6k more yards than Josh Allen, with 1 more game played. He has 3 Super Bowl wins. There are 6 Super Bowl appearances between them all. Mahomes holds 5 of those. Mahomes is the only one to break 5k yards passing. He's done it twice. They share 5 MVPs; he has 2 of those. 2 are Lamars, 1 is Joshes. He's beaten all of them in the playoffs and lost only once to burrow. He holds a 4-0 record vs allen in playoffs and mahomes has never missed an AFC chip game in his career. This year looks rough. Tell me any reasons or opionions on why these QB's should be deserving of HOF down below.
Is mahomes the only HOF calibre QB of his age group

I mean Mahomes is def in the Hall of Fame, but I mean can't just go by stats whem comparing the qbs. You also have to look at the impact they had on their teams.

The impact so far I've seen is 0 Super Bowls... Bills are undoubtedly better, but not to where I would say they've made the HOF. Bengals are also improved, but he never made it back (defense plays a factor). Ravens weren't bad before Lamar and got a little better, but he hasn't been able to get them back to the Super Bowl. Mahomes, however, made the Chiefs go from playoff makers to Super Bowl favorites almost every year.
so I take it your opinion is Dan Marino isnt à hall of famer?
So you have to win super bowls to be in the hall of fame? Guess we should kick Marino out, and Fran Tarkenton, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, and Barry Sanders.

My first argument was about stats mattering. And he had the stats needed to argue his Hall of Fame eligibility.

Fair, I just think being a top 5 qb for ten years, and a top 1 qb for multiple of those years is a clear HOF. Mahomes is just below that, but on his current pace hes probably there
Mahomes has always been a fraud. If it weren't for the super-strong roster he had early on, and being matched up against injured teams in the playoffs, he gets no rings.
He has tremendous physical talent, and he crosses the league's prime meridian of quarterbacks. He'll probably reach the Hall of Fame because of the rings, in the same manner that Manning Light is likely to. But his play has never matched the legend, and the highlights always looked flashy enough to make fans forget that his fundamentals were ordinary, and his reads less than that.
A third pick for the future hall-of-famer. Stick a fork in these 2025 Chiefs. They're more tired than a MUT 26 Raiders Theme Team.
Oh, and Lamar Jackson is even less qualified for the Hall of Fame. He's more throwing runningback than Kaepernick is.

bro what are you on about. Mahomes is obviously very very good at football, and has had multiple seasons as the number 1 qb. and so has Lamar. why the kaepernick hate? Such a random pull

Yeah, I didn’t mean to write Kaepernick. I totally meant Mahomes.
Not too many quarterbacks worse than Kaepernick was. Lamar and Mahomes have been superior to him in nearly every respect.

Apart from my failure to write the correct name above, my disregard from Mahomes fundamentally centers on the philosophy that many quarterback statistics, especially total passing yardage, are fundamentally a consequence of game flow and supporting cast. You have weak talent? Lower total yardage. Dominating all parts of the field and opening up running lanes? More chunk yardage on runs and more clock-eating pass targets on the short side of things. Mahomes constantly had dominating talent on offense to work with, but the salary cap is catching up with the Chiefs, and now he’s lacking the difference-makers that contributed to his biggest years and his biggest highlights.
Universities are churning out quarterbacks that are inferior to the Montanas and Marinos in every respect, so the best of these have low bars to clear in order to be the best in the league.
