I have played a little MUT in the past but just building a team based on my favorite players and I never watched YouTubers until this year, They keep mentioning 0 AP! but I'm confused on why this matters.
My thinking is you have 3 players for each side of the ball (off/def/spec) you can activate X-Factors for and their AP bucket points matter because you only get 15/17/3.
So why would I care if the other players who I cant activate X-Factors for have every bucket filled with the most expensive AP's?
Im definitely missing something or not understanding the AP thing.
Also I just learned this iteration of Madden that AP on non activated X-Factor players can still work, I used to only apply those to activated X-factor players 😩
So you might be confused with how the abilities worked in Mut20 where there were 3 XF players on each side of the ball.
Since Mut 21, you get alloted a certain amount of AP for all abilities and 0 ap abilities are free so they just seem to be built into the card. The more ap you save, the more you can stretch it further.
You'll see guys with abilities that are active on all 11 players. XF are different because they have to be activated through gameplay objectives so they aren't always on.
Regular abilities are always active no matter what while XF have to be glowing orange. Hope this helps

Anyway to see the limit/max?

You can see the limit via your lineup. When going to the lineup, you'll see a mixture of rectangular buttons on the left side of your screen. The button you want to focus on is the biggest, square-like button that is titled "X-Factors & Abilities". When looking in that box, you'll see three rows: one row for the offense, another row for the defense, and a third row for special teams. Those 3 rows will be organized into 3 columns: The title (Offense, Defense, Special Teams), the AP Used/AP Max (Offense uses 15 AP max, so it'll look like 0/15. Defense uses 17 AP max, so 0/17. Special Teams uses 3 AP max, so 0/3). And the third column will be X-Factors being used/X-Factor max. X-Factors only apply to the offense and defense. Both Offense and Defense can only have 3 X-Factors.
