How to Choose Which Theme Team to Focus On?

I started playing MUT this year and built my team by picking good players. But after watching YouTube and reading stuff here, everyone keeps talking about theme teams.

So I tried to figure out which theme I could build, and the Saints were the team I had the most starters from — three.

But honestly, I couldn’t care less about the Saints.

I looked into trying the Dolphins, Lions, and Rams, but I don’t have enough coins for that.

So, what do you think? Should I try building a theme team based on my favorite teams, or just stick with the one I have the most good players from?

Seahawks or Raiders

I guess it depends on what you are playing the game for. If you enjoy the grind and the collecting aspect when it comes to getting the best cards for your favorite team then I would say try to get a theme team or hybrid theme team from your favorite team(s). If you play the game because you enjoy competing online and want to win the most then you should be trying to work towards a theme team that can boost your skill position players (RB, WRs, TEs on offense) and secondary players on defense to be able to keep up with the meta teams. Right now the Raiders are the most meta theme team, but you can look at what teams the best receivers, RBs, CBs, Safeties etc played for and see if they share teams you can build around.

Keep in mind that the main goal of the theme teams are to boost speed, you get the first boost at 20 players from one team and the second +1 speed at 50 players. There are team strategy items on the auction house that can add to that chemistry as well, plus all the players we have that can get team chem from every team such as team captains and season pass players, so getting to 20 from one team is pretty easy. 

You could also do a promo theme team, if you get 20 most feared items that will give all most feared items +1 speed as well. The MF strat item gives 5 to the chem boost for free so you just need 15 more to achieve that.
