why do I keep getting warning for exceeding maimum of 3 players with xfactor with only 2 active? Its not letting me put a third one.

You need to put the player that you last activated back in and deactivate them before removing the x factor or removing them from lineup .
If you can't remember who that was, you need to create a new lineup.
Going forward, when you want to change x factors, always deactivate the player first and then remove the factor or change the player in your lineup. Deactivating before doing anyone is key to avoid this bug.
