Good day, everyone
I noticed on twitch that a lot of conversation is going on of this former NFL player who was just gifted so many cards and I was just wondering what was the reason for it

He works with EA. I chalk it up to being a perk of his gig. No different than someone getting perks at their own job in the form of corporate swag, only difference is he's getting something digital that loses value extremely quickly.
He is just one example of the EA buddy system. If you work with or know someone directly from EA they will grant you any card you want free. This sparked a lot of problems from streamers/content creators who spend $1000s on packs to get these cards which EA gives out like candy to their select favorites. This has been happening for years. The guy does do sidework/mut stuff promoting this junk for EA but apparently people got pissed off at the way he casually just got 5 mil+ in cards free on a live stream of his.

Before someone says "Google Him" I did.

OK thanks. He's the guy with the Alternate Playbook. I was having a hard time believing the author of the newly released book Love Like Jesus: How Jesus Loved People (and how you can love like Jesus) got gifted free cards from EA.
Wonder if Snoop Dogg got his 99 OVRs this year?

Snoop gets his 99's every year...for the past 10 years atleast.

Last year he also had the Lion's Motor City Muscle uniforms that weren't available to anyone else.
Anyone who cares about his guy getting granted cards should be more focused on themselves. Yea it’s kinda f’ed up that he gets free cards but honestly him getting granted those cards won’t change a single thing about your mut experience. Who tf cares. The only reason this is a big deal is because of trash content creators like gut fox making a big deal out of it for no reason.
You could give him a John madden 99 overall card with all 99 stats that can play every position and I would still flood that guy in an online game.

Good day
This actually makes sense so maybe this is their way of paying him rather than cash itself.
OneGreatUser, who is one of the main panelists for the MCS gets gifted cards all the time, since he cant actually compete in MCS events and no one made a deal out of it. Now Benkert, who plays regs on stream, gets gifted cards and the community wants him burned at the stake.
Let me start by saying I don't watch Kurt, or GutFoxx, or anyone streamer that plays MUT, because in my opinion they're all toxic/part of the problem with MUT... But this ridiculous... And just screams jealousy to me. They're mad they have to spend money on the game while he (An EA employee, basically) gets them for free...
As someone else said, he's a regs player... If they (EA) wanted him to try MUT, then they SHOULD provide the cards for him to do so. Now, going forward, if he continues to play MUT, and is still given all the top cards then MAYBE they have a case to be mad... But even then, quit pocket watching. Worry about you and yours and keep it moving.
They don't care that Snoop gets a 99 overall of himself every year... They don't care that some random person in EA's Twitch chat wins a 'dumptruck' giveaway that rewards them 3+ top end cards, so why's this any different?
