In preparation for a market drop

Are you sure there is going to be a market drop? Everyone thought there was going to be a huge crash at Christmas because of presents and it didn't happen.

Slim to none chance

I would imagine with higher overalls coming out the current big cards would take a hit

Wait, what? I think you missed Christmas, bud. But even then, didn't really happen as we all anticipated, because Scrooge McEA royally screwed the pooch with the grinchy-ness of their Christmas promo. The actual cards/content was absolute fire, but the LTD Xmas gifts were such a grift, aargh. Good luck, YMMV. Be careful taking this sort of random advice.
The OVR upgrade happened last week, either way i think you kind of missed the window of opportunity.

So you think with higher overalls bound to come the current cards will stay at their value they have now?

I’m saying for anytime. obviously this isn’t the cap for overalls

They probably will, but it may not be as huge of a hit as you might want or expect.

How small of a drop would you think?

It's hard to say to be honest. It will really depend on the quality and desirability of the next batch of cards.

We just started 94's with CH2's last week so we'll be in those for awhile so i dont see a crash anytime soon

This is basically asking someone to predict the future. Nobody can truly know. EA could decide to change their policy at basically any point, they seem to really hate anyone profiting off the game. In general, coins will remain king, so keep the "best" team possible without breaking the bank. Value can mean different things to different people and there's always tons of opportunity for budget cards/players that will be 95+% as good as the top end / new players. Unless you're part of the comp scene (which is basically over at this point), those last few percentage points of min/maxing probably don't matter all that much to you and i. The newest/best OVR cards will almost always start expensive, especially LTDs and drop over time. Markets are irrational, don't get hung up on trying to time them. Cowgrrls and other "popular" theme teams will always have players that are more expensive, which will defy logic and reason at times.
Make sure you have a decent QB (Andrew Luck is fairly cheap lately), maybe 1 or 2 fast receivers, a solid USER and some fairly "reliable" DBs (not that anything on defense is consistent, nor reliable in Madden/MUT, this year). Those are the primary positions of need, IMO. The rest can be mid-tier and you could certainly still field a competitive (somewhat) squad for online play.
I mean in the scheme of things if the goal is to preserve coin value, any time is the best time to sell your team because all cards decrease in value progressively from the moment they come out and so on, obviously this excludes certain LTDs that are parts of themes or at certain positions where they are the meta player. From my observations most cards just take on the value that their one lower overall had when a new overall comes out, like how 90s went for 85-90 when the champ sets were 93 overall. As soon as 94 sets came out, 91s dropped down to that price as well, that’s why it doesn’t even pay to “stock up” on the set builders.

Solid response thanks
