What OVR is considered "good" at this point?

I'll be honest a 96 and above team will get you to score consistently....defensively you need more than a 94 defense 

defense is the most tricky to evaluate I'll  be honest

I’m sitting at a 95 overall right now. I don’t play much and dont have much actual playing skill. I want to learn though

I think this year OVR matters less than it ever has. All year I have ran a fully BND squad (because I sell all coins I get). I have always been several OVR behind most teams and regularly win 18-20 games in MUT Champs when I play a full week. My OVR is currently 95 and I never feel outmatched.

Depends on position but I’d say 96-97

ima 96 bills tt but my h2h record is like 280-210 with 9 sb's so i dont think overall matters at all unless ur under like 92

How can I improve? 

Is better to have more speed or coverage guys on the OLB spots? I run mostly 3-3 and dollar

97 should be just fine.  96s chem up to usually a plus one.  Then through in all the 98s we got last week and sprinkle in some 99s.  I know Im sitting at a 97 on offense, 98 on defense, just because there are a few positions Im waitiing to upgrade.  NO reason to spend big for a 98 when we will get 99s when April hits.  But even with some 94 and 95s in there, I still like my team.

i currently have a 97 off and a 97 def due to the TVP glitch, my old ovr was an 89 cause i never did solos or play challenges when needed. Now i hop into a Mut champs game or H2H seasons and usually have my opponent leave within 5-10 minutes in the game. Best player I've added to my team is A-rod for offense and for defense is Definitely JJ Watt's 96. i have El Toro and Strip Specialist on him and every down he plays, he literally just delivers by getting a sack almost every time. A-Rod has been a good steal for me since i brought him around 190k which is a pretty good snipe at the time the market was dropping.  A-Rod by far has been getting the ball out under pressure and when being sacked. Another reason i bought him is because He gets another ability that helps the line block better and also he has one of the fastest releases. Overall, Make sure to have an OVR above a 96 or else your screwed.

I think this year the OVR matters even less than in years before. Its just the right abilities and players for your scheme. For me its the most fun to build a theme team like seahawks, which isnt even meta because the players just outplay cards they shouldnt do. For example Carlos Dunlaps 93 Playoffs card is the best Pass Rusher i used this year. No MilkMan or some other High end rushers i tried come close to his production. 
So it was possible to get 25 - 0 with a 92 OVR Seahawks theme 2 weeks ago, with  60 % BNDs, 30 % rentals and 10 % players to fix the problematic Positions of the theme team.

I have 96 50/50 raiders tt and I bounce in and out of legends. I'm insane on offense and just kind of pray on defense. You don't need the best team in the game to win.

So I played on another account and like last week I started a new NMS account and Im already a 93. I have done all the solos  so I dont know what to do to make coins. I currently have like no coins

I’m sitting on a 97 OVR team with a good number of 99 players, and Christmas Polamalu is still one of the top performers on my defense, so you’re not wrong. It got to the point where I moved Derwin down to the box just so I could keep Polamalu up top.
