What is the point of Acrobat ability?

I remember a few years ago, it was almost a must have on DBs

You would get insane teleportion INTs...so I believe EA toned it down a bit

But now DBs appear to dive on their own when controlled by the CPU

So what exactly does acrobat do?

They just dive and miss now and either give up a TD or big play.
