I see now people are putting gagdet players at QB in the Saint offense
.
I would think this is easier to stop as when you see a RB or WR at QB, you know to run commit
.
The HB direct formation, you can still pass out of and has a good RPO also

The HB Direct formation, and it's not close. Not by miles. Because you can RPO out of it. If the defensive line shifts to suppress the HB Direct Snap advantage, just audible to the RPO, which requires a fundamentally different alignment and different defensive adjustments to contain reliably.
If someone audibles between these two plays as a response to defensive alignments, they are exploiting the code, and they are cheating. It would be "strategy" to audible to the other play if the defense could effectively, with a reasonable number of defensive inputs, even moderately cover both plays. You can't in Madden, not without committing so much to the flats that you are leaving yourself absolutely naked over the top. That's simply not how those two plays would synergize in real life.
I haven’t had much trouble stopping Gun Heavy Saint and I don’t ever run commit. Literally just run 4-3 Over Cover 3 Sky and spread the LB’s pretty well bottles it up unless they just crazy luck with pancake blocks.
HB Direct by itself normally isn’t that hard to stop. But like you said when they add the RPO and other plays out of that same formation it can be challenging to defend all of it.
heavy saint with vanguards is a bitch

I hope you know that there’s a tell when running direct vs the te rpo. There is a different wr alignment, one is more compressed than the other. If someone runs the rpo im getting a pick six.
Neither. I can lock both. The only thing I have trouble with is people who audible out of direct into bunch nasty or trips. If your opponent is good it’s hard to adjust to those formations quickly.

Can you DB's speed burst/boost also?
