First off competition would definitely be a good thing just like in the golden age of football games way back during the PS2 era. The thing is wouldn't the mut community be fractured or broken up. There wouldn't be as many players on mut or whatever else football game was available cause the players would be divided. Any company that makes an NFL game will surely have an ultimate team building mode, hopefully. I couldn't imagine madden without mut. I definitely wouldn't be playing it as much as I do. I was a franchise player since the very first madden that introduced franchise mode in madden 98 and am now an exclusive mut player since madden25. I've always preferred madden even when NFL2K was around and will continue to prefer Madden unless another company just makes an incredible NFL game or EA severely screws up. It is crazy that we haven't had another real NFL game other than madden in a very long time. I would just hate to see an mut with half the player base and a dead auction house. I'm on old gen Xbox one and the game is very much alive and well. I just wish EA wouldn't be so lazy and play it so safe most of the times. Most of all I wish EA had some sort of quality control that helped prevent all the AI exploits we see every single year and that they could do patches and updates more frequently. I remember reading an article about how a game like fortnite can do updates pretty much anytime cause it's considered a game still in development or something like that and it doesn't have to go through Sony or Microsoft scrutiny before an update while a game like madden may take a few weeks to get an update through.
I think it would be great all around…..if there’s competition then EA has to step up their game and the other company has to come out swinging right away……it gives people options versus a monopoly, like personally i loved nfl blitz when those were around and if those came out again today id play that over madden any day of the week and id be happy
