What happened to Madden?

I shouldn’t have to come out in dime and hover over the center just to stop a basic run. I shouldn’t have to scum kick, abuse meta plays, or learn speed boosting just to be competitive.

And the worst part? Actually knowing football doesn’t even matter anymore.

Concepts, adjustments, understanding real schemes—it’s all irrelevant when the game rewards exploits over fundamentals.

At some point, it stops feeling like football and starts feeling like who can break the game better.

I’ve been playing Madden since the 90s, and I’ve spent more money than I’d like to admit trying to keep a competitive team. But now you can’t just hop on after a long day and enjoy it.

Everything revolves around the meta. If you’re not running it, you’re at a disadvantage, plain and simple.

This isn’t simulation football anymore.

if youre trying to use dime package/hovering to stop a run you dont understand the game or the game behind the game…what style of offensive beating would you consider acceptable and NOT cheating?

The bullshit ive seen is so comical I know for a fact im not buying madden 27 lol.
Opponent just throws the most random bullshit and its an agg everytime. I also dont understand how im always getting pressured instantly while my Dline does jack shit with the same abilities. 

Zero chill was fun but that was bout it.

Not sure what point you're trying to make a but if you come out in Nickel, Dime, etc against a goaline offense or multiple TE sets, you would have at least one DB against a bigger blocker and the odds of stopping the run play become very low.

You take the same logic to any part of the field and the result would be the same.

Madden allows you to play 3-2 all game long and still stop the run, unless you run into Speed Boosts and HB direct snaps, those plays are somehow difficult to code against.

EA claims they a have realistic physics and collision engines, but I have seen the opposite of that to be true.

I get the “game within the game” angle, but if stopping a basic IForm run requires dime and hovering to manipulate AI, that’s not football that’s exploiting mechanics.

I’m fine getting beat by someone running a real scheme and making reads. That’s skill.

But when the only consistent counter is an exploit, it stops being strategy and turns into who can game the system better.

YouTube and streamers. That’s what happened. lol I have to respect the hustle tho because some of these kids are making good money off mut content but at the same time it’s ruining the game.

I’m just talking about what works in this game, not real football. If you don’t understand it, you can just scroll past, no need to troll

100% Agree. Streamers are a big part.

Follow the money. If football IQ, smart decision-making during games, and skill mattered as much or more than the players on a team and their abilities, then the wallet warriors wouldn't have as much incentive to pay for their teams. It has been getting worse each year. EA claims it's not a pay-to-win model but every decision they make is just another example of how it is. 

Before abilities, once most teams reached 99 overall, the chase was over. Abilities were introduced to breathe more life into cards, but it's gotten out of control at this point. They jumped the shark when X-Factors started becoming regular abilities. Now it's just a battle of who can stack the most abilities and with AP limits and discounts that expire each season, EA has learned how to get the whales to spend even more each season to keep their teams competitive. Only the rarest and most expensive cards get certain baked-on abilities and discounts, so yeah. This is why I don't buy the game, start playing when it's free after the Super Bowl, only play offline, and just have fun building a team and using players I like.
