It's funny how EA ruined Madden with Vanguard and then just stopped releasing o-linemen with the ability...classic EA move, I hope they take it out the game honestly steam rolling players is funny but it's so toxic. And it bails out the sucky players that don't know much about either football or Madden. Please I beg the Madden gods please leave vanguard behind in 26🤣
I think you can say the same is true for all abilities and X factors though. I think everyone would be fine if this was removed from the game.
It’s comical when I return my kickoffs 😂 I have a total of 14 vanguards on my roster
The funny thing is vanguard actually brings balance to end game. 99% of people sit in dime or nickel cover 4 drop with UC and Avalanche on everyone. If I come out with a 3 TE set then yes you should get pancaked.

💯
They need to drop all abilities and X factors. Go back to the old days. But they won’t because it gives them a way to control the power curve and generate money.
Personally I think EA was merely recognizing OL already had nasty streak and vanguard only stacked in peoples minds.

I hope it's removed or just limited to a few players like before

Yo, I just learned about that and man that's the funniest most toxic thing I've ever seen. Everybody getting steamrolled

My experience in this case is that this inevitability forces me to make certain commitments before joining a game: Reinforcement/Run Stuffer/Out My Way as abilities, and heavier players. When I randomly match up against a pure passer (which may actually involve some skill on my opponent’s part), I’m disadvantaged because I’m lacking solid pass-rush abilities and pass-coverage linebackers. (I reached end game able to afford solid starters, but not an entire starting lineup at backup positions to swap in place of the others to defend against the alternative opponent.) Trying to split the difference generally means being weak against both the run and the pass. Offensive ability choices dictate what is necessary on the defensive side. There is no mechanism for adjusting in-game.
Therefore, the coin-flip component of matching up against players with no pre-game knowledge of my opponent’s tendencies and lineup means the game is significantly tilted for or against me from the start. In other words, random chance with peer-to-peer matching has contributed significantly to the outcome of a game before the game’s RNG puts a stamp on that inevitability through pancakes or block sheds, breakups or blown coverages.

Correct! Everyone continues to use the glitchy loop blitz cover 4 so to counter that, you run the ball and make them get out of it. I waste coins on. Good receivers because i have more success running the ball due to people still running that corny defense so late in the year

100%
Well I will never understand people who run the ball. It's not only that they run the ball. They use most of the time only 1 or 2 plays all game cuz u have to know exactly how to stop it or you're cooked. The only variant is going left or right. How dull of a person can you be?
And when you stop it they don't know what to do and quit out. They don't even fight one bit. Dull and a coward. Bad combination. And vanguard mainly helps those guys.

Let the kids have their fun. Â But you are absolutely correct, the majority of these abilities have zero business being part of online H2H competitive gameplay. Â Instead of getting better at the game, these kids are loving being able to NOT have to play and still able to rack up wins. Â Fuggit, you've gotta be able to pass the ball at a high level if you have any hope of playing this game.
Wish we'd get more player variety -- each and every single year, the end-game teams are all essentially identical. Â There's no "best" for a particular play style, it's basically Drake Maye or nobody else. Â Give us numerous options at QB, make pocket passers slow, but have them excel in other areas. Â If you wanna be mobile, you should have to give up something in the passing game. Â Sadly, these things are merely dreams. Â The rare moments when EA has a decent idea (thinking stamina from M24 cycle) they lack the dev talent or knowledge or ability to successfully implement these changes. Â Could be due to the limitations of Frostbite game engine, or something else entirely. Â What a mess.
