they changed up the traits and added new ones, could take the mods a bit to add them

That's a good question. EA reached out and let me know that they no longer impact MUT gameplay this season. I was skeptical, but they assured me that was the case and set every trait to be the same for all players. The exceptions are QB pass release and running style. That's why those still show on MUT.GG.

There are no traits this year? I thought they said traits were going to be unique this year? Why would they take it out of the game?

I mean read Rocketz reply. EA have confirmed they have no impact on gameplay in MUT with the exception of running style and QB release.

Dna traits seem to activate in mut. If you turn on the setting to see when they activate they pop up in mut as well. Micah parsons pops gas guzzler and twister almost every play
