Toxic Madden Players

No name dropping will happen, but I played a rather interesting individual today. ran a normal offense going between bunch, doubles, trips, etc but he was running mid blitz with bottleneck on defense. most of the time he would only send 4 and put people into zones but his 4 man rush was killing me. didn't have the greatest offense but his defense was keeping him in it (for the 1st quarter). I eventually get going on offense and he couldnt stop it. dudes messages me mid game saying, and I quote: "U not good. Ebook saving u". I will say I am an ebook user, but its only to help me be even better at the game. right now the u trips I'm running isnt an ebook, its just plays that I know will work. my defense is an ebook tho. I soooooo badly wanted to say the cheese bottleneck strat isn't helping him out but I decided to just say "GG" because I didn't want to get message/ voice chat suspended again.

some people, even if they are cheesing, call you bad when you are simply beating them. they think no one can get around it, but the right people can.

I feel like  we talk a lot lol my fellow eagles tt user. I have had more and more of these experiences. Like the other day this guy did nothing but cheeseburger blitz me and then say how bad I was and why I was always under center. So I mean he did give me some constructive criticism but mostly trashing me lol . And some times it goes the whole game and sometimes its close then at the end theres a n word drop and im trash . The community has def become more toxic since I started mut in 2019

The college game is ten times worse!! They say the nastiest stuff u can think of!

I know it's out there (Bottleneck) and it's probably coming for me -- at this point i can count two distinct times this year where I've struggled against some shaded down Man Press, otherwise it's often trivial to beat straight up Man to Man.

The direct counter to this stuff is to spend AP on any of the following abilities; Double Me, Max Possession or RAC `Em Up -- all three of which will insta-beat Man Press attempts, making it nearly impossible to play man.  Then there's always the usual Cheat Motion which will screw up alignment terribly, because this game is a buggy ass, inconsistent, steaming pile of doo-doo.

But yeah, had some clown last night saying "this N-word is making me mad" (on his open hot mic) -- at that point he was only down 7-0, so of course it wasn't going to get better for this dude.  I kept my stupid mouth shut and didn't antagonize him, although that's exactly where things were headed.  He bowed out at halftime, rage quit after going down 21-0.  He called my offense "simple" and it hurt my feelings, heh.  Simple, but effective.  No E-books here, but once you learn which route combinations work well together, you'll probably never need an ebook again, as those same concepts will work year in and year out.

I was briefly tempted to drop Bottleneck onto Adderly and Watson, but i'm not sure I can improve upon my 3 man pressure (with Cover 4 Drop, or whatever Zone you prefer over top), sending two Unstoppable Force + Dual Threat... this shit is hella glitchy and should NOT be allowed in the game, but EA gonna EA, so i'll continue using this til FEB13th.

yeah, people do that just because you don't play the way they do. not everyone wants to run the most cheesy or just plain good plays and it sucks people trash on each other because of that. yeah, the language can get kind of strong from some people. I agree, it just keeps getting worse.

Very informative post . You all are the community I love and appreciate. So since I did buy the new cooper is it unfair to use bottle neck xfactor. I'm still trying to figure out the route combos myself. One thing I'll ask. I now know how to combat the double pass but I still get cooked by the one play td and the motions. And info I would greatly appreciate

oh yeah, that is one of the main reasons I'm in Patriots and not Eagles. TE Whip is my fav man beater, so good every year. the stock routes out of U Trips (Y Off Trips Pats) easily beat man coverage without any of the abilities you mentioned. yeah, some people are just so mean lol. there are 3 main reasons why I use the ebook, 1) I can never find a defense, 2) there are extras on there about the game, and 3) the community is great. great mix of causal players just trying to get better and competitive players. I'm lucky enough to not run into the TJ and Trey + Selfless combo but once I do I know I'm not going to enjoy it.

The way i defend against this stuff (one play TDs and the cheat motion) is to audible over to Cover 4 Drop... although i determined opponent will combo together certain routes that will develop late in the play and potentially get their receiver open DEEP for a big gain, if not one-play score.  The way i try to defend this is to either Man up the  SUBLB on opponent's desired receiver (while preserving the Cover 4 shell above) and make sure we're getting some type of pressure, so these long plays can't be hit if the QB is running for his life.

I don't want to encourage all this glitchy nonsense, but EA isn't going to do a damn thing to improve the mess they've created, so meanwhile (til FEB13th), there are some UNSTOPPABLE pass rush options out there that pair nicely with a 4AP Unstoppable Force (from DeMarcus Ware or George K).  Wink wink, nudge nudge:

Whoa, sorry wasn't trying to throw shade, especially not at you, of all community members.  I just hate when streamers and content creators want to gate-keep their "secret" video game knowledge.  I am probably just a stupid communist or something, but i believe information should be shared freely.  Knowledge is power, and should be provided to everyone and anyone, not locked behind a $15/month subscription fee where only rich assholes can participate.  That shit irritates me so much.

I'm happy to spread what little i know of the game around.  That's a large part of why i'm here, trying to pay it forward -- there's been TONS of folks, such as yourself, who haven't hesitated to bless me with tons of in-game knowledge that cannot be found elsewhere.  And for that, i thank you... one and all.

You both rock btw. I see both of you very active in our mutt gg community. You guys always take the time to respond and always have helpful information.

i didnt interpret it in that way, i was just providing reasoning on why i spend my money on it. I do agree with your statement there tho. if the one I'm currently paying for wasnt the price it was I wouldn't be buying one right now. there are so many free YouTube videos about certain offenses and defenses in the game. 

I agree with that too, throughout my whole life I've always loved helping people out. something about me wants to see other people improve and succeed in different parts of life, videogames, etc. Np man, and thank you
