How annoying.
We can't just assemble a team of our favorite players anymore, we have to have a stupid theme team in order to be competitive.
Sucks just getting the game and being excited about building a team only to run into guys with a Seahawks theme team and 99speed players all over.
I dont like that its kinda forced on us, but I do like not getting FOMO for every card in the game. I like when a Falcon comes out, that's the card I was waiting on. They stay on my team a lot longer without being a hindrance.
Playing against Seahawks/Pats constantly just comes with online gaming. If it wasnt TTs is would be some other way to have the best/easiest to build copy/paste team.
You can throw in 70-79s as backups until you get the players you want, along with team builders, 32 team chems, etc. Its not hard to get the chem needed for a powerful TT, and even easier to stay there once you get there.

One solution is to simply avoid the first six months of Madden. TTs become less effective once 96 and 97 OVRs start dropping and worthless once 99s are common. Plus you can pick up the game for $20.99 (January), free on EA Play (February), and then $13.99 (March) each year. I just installed Madden '26 for free (XBOX Game Pass / EA Play) four days ago and am building a non-TT, same as last year.
I agree and feel the same way, this year more than ever.
Bro they made theme teams to keep up with the people just getting best players available. It’s not just a team thing it’s when you add crystal boost on top of a promo boost of top of a theme team filled with all 32 team chemistry is where it gets annoying. Regular theme teams shouldn’t be punished cuz of that.
I mean, all the gotta do is implement matchmaking based on overalls right? seems like something that has been around for decades in many other games, don't know why they can't support that tech. if they are already doing it, it is not working as intended for sure.
you shouldn't have to avoid the game for 6 months like someone said, it's just unfortunate the situation we are in with this game.
I like TT for the budget aspect of it. I only chase the players with the Bucs chem.
I feel like with the crystal speed boost it def forces it more.
and EA has gone on these straights of dropping a ton of cards for 1 team (Jags during Gametime, Raiders during and even after MF, etc) that do make it so everyone just uses the same team. i do like TTs tho

I sort of did this. I played on PS5 for a couple of months before getting burned out. I played some story driven stuff and got an Xbox Live gift card. So I decided to start clean on MUT when Madden 26 dropped on EA Play, included with Game Pass. I got into it this past Friday and have a 94 OVR Cowboys themed team. It’s pretty fun. I ain’t spending no 4 mill on Lamb or anything, especially when they’re likely to drop a Michael Irvin Legend or something I can get for free with Weekly Tokens.
