Take: having a lot of coins is less enjoyable then little coins

I think I get where you’re coming from. You can get bored of any game or anything if it feels too easy and when the coins start piling up sometimes MUT feels that way. How you get there does influence how you feel about it. It can feel like winning or game completion or a bit hollow with or without spending. That’s a failure by EA to find additional ways for people to continue to engage with their game, content and the community surrounding it but thankfully I am not reliant on them for my own creativity and that’s what’s ultimately necessary for me to get enjoyment out of MUT or most anything.

I personally rarely use my god squad in h2h. It’s not fun to play with most of the time. Additionally this year I made the decision to not use my main market account as my h2h account. My thinking was no matter what happens I’ve still have my h2h account. Having multiple accounts helps me not only protect myself but gives me more to do and can feel very rewarding. Just don’t violate the TOS in the process. Always gotta put a disclaimer in there.

I prefer to take my time team building for the scheme I want to use. I spend quite a bit of time team building. I really enjoy it and wish there was a lot more detail here. I usually have multiple lineups I’m using at any given time as well. Keeps it interesting. As a fan I often have a Lions theme team but obviously I don’t limit myself to that.

Market and AH work is clearly something I enjoy and I can always add more coins to the stack no matter how many I have. Even if it is pointless to do so. Good coin, team and binder management are the foundations of a healthy MUT account and well leveraged MUT coin stack. That’s pretty good. Package it up and slap a sticker on it. Preferably a scratch and sniff. Those three things keep me moving and grooving pretty good in MUT but sometimes you just need a break and maybe a different game. I usually find a renewed passion after returning from a short hiatus.

You can have the journey and the destination or just the destination. If it’s the middle seat on a long international flight I might get it. Or you’re allergic to peanuts but damn look at that view.

You dont need to cheese h2h to win. And you absolutely don't need the high end cards for CPU

Even if you run "cheese" you dont need the high end cards. All about abilities and thresholds unfortunately

I get the point about pulls meaning more and having to fight with a lesser team in H2H... But I dont miss having to grind sets just to make a few thousand in profit per set.

Its a balance. Whenever I lose in H2H, I go straight into the auction house and figure out who I need to buy to help my team win lmao. But, of course the cards lose value over time. If you are NMS (or dont like buying packs), I would say its best to save your coin stack for GT and rookie premieres.

Team building and grinding is the most fun for me. Who really enjoys the actual gameplay past the first month😂

I even grinded for Leinart although I knew I would never use him.

It's a fine line, IMO. I totally get where you're coming from, overall YES, it's fantastic to build and use your own squad, but that fun and pride in actually building out your own squad, getting some meaningful upgrades along the way is wonderful... however, that stops being fun real quick, especially at specific times when we basically NEED specific abilities for our cards to move and play their respective positions correctly, which EA tends to lock behind a paywall with only 2-3M+ coins required to acquire. Oof.

I've seen both ends of the spectrum. I tried remaining NMS, but didn't last very long. I absolutely HATE the fact pay to win (P2W) game mechanics exist. They have absolutely no business being in any online H2H competitive game modes. Sell us uniform packs, various cosmetics, whatever... but fuck me and all the other pay pigs engaging with this. Sadly, that's what is required to field a competitive squad. 

I'm not here trying to get a MUT Economics degree, but having market knowledge certainly doesn't hurt, as there are tons of opportunity to earn profit. Using MUT Leaks knowledge, please general ebb and flow during the week, it's not impossible once you have a decent coin stack to start rolling around.

Great write-up. I’ve always been F2P and never really had the feeling of getting a god squad. The closest I was to that was at the end of Madden 24 when everyone had full 99s with 3 free abilities per position. Even then I never had more than 500K coins at a time since I don’t work the auction house. I’m sort of on the fence on which is better since having a god squad with millions of coins lets you instantly get the players that other players spend weeks or even months looking for. On the other hand I’ve always loved building up my team in MUT and being flexible in my players or getting hyped for a pull that elite MUT players would scoff at. Ultimately I don’t have lots of Madden experience compared to other people on this site so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
