But turn football into a video game, and the cheaters dictate the culture of the game. You earn the adulation of others by cheating, and so you have tens of thousands of users that cheat game after game after game.

You have players bragging that they do what they have to do to win. A cheat is a cheat. So, yes, I will judge cheaters as such until they stop being cheaters.
