It used to be much easier to have a BND team with PU's, LTDs, and BND sets but they got rid of 2/3 and LTDs have severly gone up over the years...
Still doable if youre smart with coins and wait for thresholds/ability costs to go down but just takes longer to be worth while.

The best way I found to up your squad is to buy LTDs that hit the quicksell value fast. Buy them with your stack from time to time they play well for the majority usually a month. Quick sell them and recycle. Your team might be full of LTDs too but they hold value if you bought them at quicksell price.

Does h2h use a matchmaking system similar to other multiplayer player games? Like if I have an 85 overall team will I be matched with other high overall teams? And vice versa if I had a 70 overall team will I be matched with lower level players?
I swear nobody was fed 4-5 85 ovr last year at start, spend $500 and i have literally 0 shot of competing ALREADY. kinda insane how behind we are already

it gets better bro. NMS last 4 years. just need to thug it out until most feared, but by then usually good enough cards for a solid theme team that I can run and be competitive. primarily ravens or eagles.
but they will drop better free cards that will help stay afloat so you can use your coins wisely on other upgrades. just stay patient!

You will get usually 2-3 games where your skill level is higher then your opponent, you will get 1-3 games where your pretty even, and you may get one where your overall and skill are much lower than your opponent. You may have a 70 overall play a full 85 overall team with every top card.
For the most part it is pretty even until you hit the playoff then the matchmaking will pit you against much tougher opponents.

Best thing you can do is spend your time developing a really strong scheme, not trying to get coins. The games I remember the most are the ones where someone comes out with a shit team and just tears me up cos their scheme is just on point.
Focus on your scheme, and enjoy smashing people with an average team while they spend their money buying a team they don’t know how to use.
This. Good scheme is enough to win a lot of games sometimes even when matched up against someone with a god squad. Couple of years ago I made the NMS switch and haven’t had a bad enough experience to make me switch back. My wallet is grateful.

How do I get a scheme? Like what do I need to do to practice? I have a decent team but the scheme part is meh.

I prefer to start with what i term a "mini scheme" -- find three or four MONEY plays that you are super comfortable running and call them over and over until you know them liek the back of your hand.
For example, i really dig this new Gun Y Off Trio Close formation, i think it's probably the first time it's been in the game (i believe it was also in CFB), but i often come out in this basic Flood play, which is a universal beater. Meaning, it has route combinations that will get open against both Man and Zone. Learning to read defenses certainly doesn't hurt, but if you can identify the difference between Man and Zone, that's a wonderful place to start. Using some type of motion can often help point that out, pre-snap. The two quick adjustments i liek to make, are putting the Slot Corner into a Post and the weak side solo receiver onto a Return route. Hike. First read is always the TE Zig, if that is open, hit it -- 100% of the time. Often newer players will ignore their read progressions, because they're hoping or waiting for something to get open down the field. If yer opponent is giving you a free 5-7 yards, TAKE IT. Every single play. You will feed families with this dink and dunk stuff, especially once you have the timing down. You'll learn to read when certain routes are covered and can immediately move on to your next receiver/read. Learn those progressions and use them. Take the easy stuff.
Start small, focus on a couple/few plays and every week, start practicing one new play to add to yer arsenal. By Christmas you'll have a full scheme that you are comfortable with and that becomes familiar. It takes a LOT of reps to get comfortable with this stuff.
And of course, make sure you are using the Placement & Accuracy passing mechanic. Practice the timing with yer QB, spend 15-20 minutes per day (Offense Only) practice mode, just working on that timing, until you are throwing a majority of blue/green "perfect" pass releases.
just follow buffalokay or one of the youtubers/twitch guys that make 10000000 million coins every year.
Being nms isnt that big of a deal, just never buy packs with coins and learn when the market goes in its cycles, buy low sell high.

It is not impossible.. I mean this in the nicest way.. you just need to be better. Playing the computer isnt going to get you better at H2H. Does having a great team help? Yes. But it is not a necessity unless you are playing competetive players. scheme always beats the better team. Also, if you are grinding solos you should have a more than serviceable team for H2h... the best players right now are basically under 80 ovr.. watch a few youtube videos and find a scheme that fits your playstyle and you will get there. You cant get better unless you are playing people at the level you want to play at. Didnt mean to sound rude, just being honest.

Thank you as always for your incredibly thought out message. I currently am running the giants playbook I saw on one of the post for best playbooks. Also have Cleveland and green bays as well. I haven't tried them all but I'll have to find some really good plays. I am using placement and accuracy per your suggestion last year but I got used to the dots QBs. Am I supposed to be holding the LT while I'm holding the wr button? Is that the timing part your talking about to get the blues? I have gotten a few blues just pushing the button but not many and they're very random. Like sometimes I'll throw a blue right before I'm gonna get sacked when it should in theory be more red from the pressure.
