It means anyone who uses Film Study , Omaha and or Mind Reader don't really want to play Madden . It takes  away the whole point of the game  .

To have a competitive game vs an opponent that wants to play the game .

How often do you actually get to do that?

It’s pretty rare for me.

I don’t use Omaha, only been using Film Study for like a week and it was because I didn’t know what else to put on Night Train.

I could care less if my opponents use any of these abilities. I don’t run the same play on repeat so Film Study is a wasted ability for my opponents.

I have a hard time understanding why you are so against Film Study unless you’re running the same play on repeat. If that’s the case then why even play a football game?

For me the point of the game is to have fun and build a team that I enjoy using. I would  love it if I could play some competitive games against players that actually want to play a game that resembles football. Unfortunately that’s just becoming more rare each year.

film study activates regardless of if you hot route every single route. so if you’re playing man coverage without route abilities, for example, and you call a play with a zig and hot route everything else, itll still activate. 

calling the same play ≠ calling the same setup

Also, if someone can’t stop a play, why should someone stop calling it?

First thing if you could care less that means you care . I also doubt you have been using it for a week .  If you are any good at Madden you know there are certain plays that have a unique route or routes  that you cant  be replicated and you run different concepts with that as your base . You said you rarely get games like that ( cause your running film study ) and I rarely get game like that due to guys running Film Study , Omaha and Mind reader  like you .   If you do a poll "should  film study be in the game " it will be a resounding no .  By all means though play the game the way you like , and I by all means will judge you for it .

If someone is going to call a play with a zig and hot route everything else then just call a different play.

I know that would be too hard for most, because the YouTubers don’t tell them to call different plays, right? Just use this one play and change it 6 different ways to beat any coverage.

I’ve heard this so many times. I imagine I’m VERY different than most on this site. I don’t want to run the same play over and over because my opponent can’t stop it just to get a win. That is not fun for me at all. I might run the same play a few times in a game but never constantly repeating the same play.

I guess I wasn’t very clear before, but I don’t care at all what abilities anyone chooses to use. If they’re in the game do whatever you want with them.

I don’t believe I’m “good” at the game, l bet I would lose to a lot of people that frequent this site. I understand what you’re saying about certain plays working better than others but I don’t watch YouTube and I’ve never looked at an e-book. Every year I start with a playbook and use coach suggestions finding different plays that I like. I don’t run the meta defense or offense. I use several different formations on offense, 3-4 different formations on defense, and my user changes between 5 different defenders based on what the offense is doing. 

I rarely get games that are competitive with someone who actually wants to play something that resembles football because 95% of the player base is running the same BS schemes and EA doesn’t code the game properly. It literally has 0 to do with Film Study, Omaha, or Mind Reader.

I’ve played against Omaha probably a dozen times and I’ve probably won half of those games. It doesn’t give the opponent an automatic win.

I specified that if you can’t recreate a specific route, it penalizes you from using it regardless of how much variety you have. you can complain about YouTubers, that’s fine and I think generally widely published META is boring to play constantly, but the film study ability isnt doing anything but claiming to help people who dont know the game very well

Clearly video game football is VERY different from actual football.

The reason I play video games is for fun. I’m 40 years old and have been playing video games since I was around 4 years old.

I would much rather lose playing a close competitive game against someone not running the same old meta schemes than just getting another win in Madden.

You can complain about BS but its hypercritical  but again play the way you want ill judge you the way I want .
