Rate This Mut 1-10 and why

I’ll say 6/10. My biggest gripes being:

OOP players all year long. It’s cool if there’s a few cards every year, but literally the best team in the game right now features most players being OOP. 

Pack odds are awful. If you aren’t spending money (I spent a ton), you aren’t pulling shit. It’s a joke. If you don’t spend a ton of money on the game or spend hours a day on the AH, it’s tough to stay even a promo behind.

EA mastered the art of destroying rosters. Besides maybe 3 promos, EA sunk most promos literally the week after they dropped. Absolutely insane how much value I lost throughout the year, just because the next week, EA decided to drop another promo that killed the value of promos before. 

Lastly, gameplay. And I get to each their own when bitching about gameplay. I don’t have an issue stopping RPO’s so I can’t feel others pain with that. My issue is the double pass for obvious reasons, then also the all out blitzes in man basically bottling things , and also dollar blitz being one of the best run defenses in the game. Just not close to realistic.

The biggest issue for me, and I know some won't agree, is the influence of DDA or what I believe to be "DA." So many games are decided before they get going. My O-line allow insta-sheds nonstop despite making line adjustments, Secure Protector, etc. Players take the worst angles imaginable, my players drop easy pick 70% of the time, players seem slow and sluggish some games despite 99 AGI, COD, ACC, etc. Most my abilities fail 90% of the time, especially Secure Tackler and KOs. It seems like one team is playing against All Madden players and the other is playing against Pro at best. I've been on both sides of that.

Pack odds are horrible. Like the worst possible. Even when gameplay sucked, in older maddens, you could pull some packs for fun. You can't do that now. The + on most of these packs don't exist. Boom or Busts are just a way to waste your tickets. It's been bad.

The bland, boring META this year was terrible. Not impossible to counter but having to counter the same ways all the time because it's so rampant sucked a lot of the fun out of it for me. I know it's that way most years but this year seemed the worst in a long time. As the person above me said, Dollar being one of the best run defenses ruined a lot of the game as well.

Overall, I did like the movement and the playbooks this year. Everything else was horrible to me. I doubt I'll pick up M26. Maybe once its' on EA play I'll try it but not a day 1 buy for sure.

I'm going to amend my earlier non-rating after a moment of MUT 25 nostalgia.

The thing that I liked, and that I want to have remain in the game, is having Season Pass players and other upgradable players that are actually somewhat viable for an open head-to-head lineup. In MUT 24, most of the Welcome Pack players were unusable even when fully upgraded. With almost half of the MUT 25 Season Pass players and many other Welcome Pack players ultimately being able to attain All-32 Chems, they had a persistent relevance. I'm happy with the higher-tier Ranked awards earning this capacity as well.

(Otherwise, I don't believe that All-32 should be as pervasive as it is in MUT 25.)
