I’ve played this game since well 04 but regardless in many years of mut if for example someone posted a card for 250k coins then someone would post theirs for 240k then 230k then one would eventually be bought. I’ve noticed mainly this year there will be 3,4,5 plus of the same card for the same price 4 Bo Jackson’s all up for 4.5 million lol you would think maybe one of those 4 npcs would realize maybe 4mil or 4.2 would sell idk just weird that everyone posts for same price and the auction house sits stale compared to years past where undercutting was more of a thing

Sounds like people have gotten smarter and want to get the value of their card and not lose coins. Just because other people do it doesn't make it the default "right thing" to do. I personally buy and sell on the market to MAKE coins, not lose them.
I noticed there were way more people price fixing this year, especially the LTD's and Crystal cards. There was even a guy on here talking about how he was part of a discord and that was their only goal...pick a card and control the market. I bet if you clicked on those 4 Bo cards, you'll probably see they were bought recently and not pulled from packs.
If I was a betting man, I’d say most of the time, that’s the same person or group of friends trying to control the market.
Thanks guys interesting new trend

You haven't been paying much attention if this is what you're ranting about.
Every time a new program drops, you'll see people posting cards for way less than it cost to build one. The market price should always be (Set price + 10%) on new programs and we can check the Price Dashboard here on MUT.GG for the price of older cards by overall.
I usually post my cards right before going to bed and 9 times out of 10 they sell overnight.
But you're free to vent about whatever you like, but I can't stand people what send the market into a nosedive, simply because they don't understand that the cheapest price will always sell, even if it's only 1k cheaper.
I despise undercutting on rare cards. Just have some patience.
I never understand rants about a free market. The value of selling a card is different for different people. When my son wants to sell a card, he seems to have a sense of urgency that I would rarely have. However, that is part of a free market. In addition, no one is forced to overpay for a card. If you bought it at a specific price, that means you value the card at that price or greater. Even price fixers in Madden can only target a small number of cards. If the good was essential (e.g., food, oil), I would feel differently about the price fixers, but there really is no Madden card we cannot live without.
I’ve noticed the opposite. Feels like EA is planting cards in the market at a certain price to influence sales.
For example, I’ve had LTD cards where the lowest price in the market is 5 million and people will continue to list at 3.9 million. I can’t see anyone doing that. I understand the recent sales are listed on the card, but so is lowest market price. I doubt an actual player would give up a million coins.
Market is volatile, tho. People have certainly been burned because they held onto a card just a bit too long. So I get the urgency thing, and also some people want to sell immediately so they can buy something else.
I’ve played the market with patience this year and it has paid off, but at end of day it’s just pixels on a screen, it means nothing. No one cares about your prowess at playing the MUT market, lol.
The market has definitely evolved over the years, but much of that comes from the implementation and updates to the design of the auction UI and the information that is now provided. Madden 2004 is too far back for me to remember, but just comparing things to ten years ago is a huge difference. Not many years ago, there were no safeguards in place to prevent somebody from accidentally posting a card for 100 bid and 150 buy now. I used to spend a lot of time looking for those snipes. In fact, I think it was Madden 23 when I got a 99 Brady for 150 coins. I had just started playing after it went free on GamePass and was just browsing the actions. Saw Brady for 150 and jumped on it. Couldn't believe I actually got it before anyone else. I pretty much never see cards posted for 150 anymore which is a good thing for all of the poor souls who make that mistake. Of course, sometimes it's on purpose, and somebody decides to stop playing and gives their team away.
Now, cards have price floors and ceilings. Before posting, we are shown the last few sales, what the lowest buy now is, and the historical median price. That alone helps keep cards closer to their actual value. Otherwise, lazy people just guess at a price based on overall or based on nothing. Now people can see what a card is actually selling for, and it also seems like people have become more patient these days so instead of undercutting, they will actually post slightly higher.
Another thing that has affected the market is sets. I used to always sell nearly every card I pulled, but now I save most cards for sets. I also used to sell strategy items, but now I just save them for the sets unless it's one that sells much higher than the rest. I feel like sets have greatly reduced the number of cards that get posted for auction. Last thing I'll mention is training value. Being able to quicksell cards for training is yet another thing keeping cards off the market. I have definitely noticed a decline in auction house activity over the years. It seems like each year, snipes get harder, and I see less and less cards when searching for a specific one. Back in the day, I would see 20+ results when searching for a single card. Lately, I'm lucky to see 3-5 and sometimes it's not even posted. Anyway, I feel like it's more about these changes to the design than the behavior of the community.

100% they plant cards. You can see for yourself if you buy out all of a specific promos tier class (I did this during zero chill). They replenish them at a set cadence and interval.

"Press RT/R2 to post card to AH"
The example you gave was 4.5m Bo Jackson. Only 60 sales in past 24 hours
So, if all four were posted prior to a single sale moving that average up/down then what you saw would be 100% expected.
Oh well, less people complaining about undercutting is probably better for us all, LOL.
