Ranked Bums

Made top 100 today 36-13 and I must say I’m very disgusted with the madden community This is my first time playing ranked all year because I felt like my team wasn’t up to par but everyone I played did the exact same nano blitz bunch nasty and motions  i run a simple single back offense and man cover 2 and I destroyed them everytime youtube has made these game so un fun everybody runs the meta so much a real offense and basic defense looks foreign to them

I'm just mad I haven't had time to properly grind ranked. I want to get on that leaderboard before it becomes unattainable currently in elite

It was a breeze for me you can get on it easy bro just gotta run a good man defense and u will stop 80% of the bums

you do realise you won’t keep your top 100 spot with that record right? 

it goes all the way till the end of season, you’re gonna have to keep winning to maintain your placing

and it’s not just ranked, happens in champs and gauntlet too it’s painful. went 18-2 this week in champs, only two losses were tight games against nano blitzers, lost both high scoring games because i eventually failed a 4th down due to pressure and quit

Yea idc about the ranking just the 3200rp but I was just making a point that I haven’t played ranked all year and I reached the top tier in only 45 games because everyone runs the same shit like I want to play real fun games and that’s just not happening I’m not even having trouble stopping the cheeses 🧀 this year is just wack is my point

The game is just not competitive and fun at the same time anymore like I really just beat like 30 ppl that stepped in the competitive ring to cheat and failed and it just makes my games less enjoyable its like here we go again 90% of the time 5 snaps into the game

Hard to cheat at Chess. EA made it easy to cheat in Madden.

How do you go about running a good man defense? id love to run it but always get absolutely destroyed in man so I only run zone bend don’t break . Man seems incredibly difficult and inconsistent but if you have cracked the code I’m sure the entire community would love some feedback

Thats weird because for the past two seasons I’ve got to 3200 and made the “top 100 rank” and didn’t play ranked again until it reset and I got the best card every time. Pretty sure once you get there If you don’t play that mode again your gonna dtay at whatever rank you are

If it was your first time play ranked all year then that means you were facing light competition, next season you’ll face more experienced players

Nah, i'm not convinced that any reliably consistent Man to Man coverage exists in this game.  Any competent opponent should be able to cook that, a quick stemmed down corner route and bye-bye birdie.

I haven't even started my five Placement games yet for this cycle of Ranked, been trying to make sure I still remember how to play the game -- raced to 2900 RP last cycle and took the rest of December off, basically.  Was hoping to do that again this cycle, but i already feel "behind" however it's nice to hear that OP managed to breeze right through.  Last cycle was only my second attempting Ranked play and i found it to be a similar breeze, took me just over a week, despite the terrible starting tier (Bronze), as i choked hard on my Placement games, going 2-3.

I assume very little has changed, but i'm not finding anyone even trying to play actual defense.  Kids basically just blitz 6+ (simulate 7 pass rushers, by hovering their USER over the O-line) and just hope and pray that Cover 0 gets home before the QB can make a read.  That stuff frustrates most casuals, but as you pointed out, anyone even remotely competent should be able to send five out and hit the quick open read, or lob one over top for a streaking receiver, after they inevitably beat the man press attempts.

Normally I would qualify these statements with a "YMMV" but i do not believe that is the case here.  The game (especially Man coverage) is far too inconsistent to be reliable.  In the rare instances when I find a weak opponent and decide to run straight up Man to Man, it's almost always shaded down, Cover 2 (Press).  Even with deep safety help, we're still going to get cooked.

You know you could brag about you making top 100 without sounding self righteous  ?

The only way to stop it is if the Devs actually cared.

It's a sh*tty game bc the Devs allow it to be.

1 quick and simple way to counter this youtube meta cheese BS is if they altered the coding/physics just so much each season that there is inevitably 

a new 'meta' each and every season.

Use your imagination, they could hedge it so that slots are hyper aware to rpos and fly/glitch to the bubble for a pick 6 instead of it being the meta. Same thing with running animations. One season power-runs could be the meta and the next outside zones if they messed with blocking/block-shedding animations.

Slow down player movement speed by a c*nt hair and hedge for better pass blocking IQ and all of a sudden it's a passing season.
