Question re: Sets

I'm a NMS player.  I recognize that it will be harder for me to compete in H2H games and that's fine.  

What I want to know, and perhaps other NMS players with more experience here can chime in, is whether it's even possible for me to generate enough coins to complete sets repeatedly.  There are a bunch of objectives built into the passes/missions that say something along the lines of "Complete 3 Team Affinity Sets" - okay, fine.  If I'm not going to spend real money on MUT, is it even possible for me to complete these objectives without completely bankrupting myself (in MUT coins) in the process?

I hope what I'm asking makes sense.

If you complete the set and sell the player, should only be a small loss.  Do the legend program solos, all of them.  Sell everything you get.  Except the 4 player 81 fantasy pack - you can use 3 of those towards completing one of the Team Affiinity sets.

Right, but selling at a small loss is not repeatable over and over again if I'm also trying to build a team that I both like and is able to compete...?
