What is everyone’s thoughts on power up cards this year? Seems only the legend cards followed the traditional power up process. This year has its benefits though of not having to worry about over priced low tier cards from inflated prices.
As someone who doesn't enjoy powerups, I am glad they weren't a big thing this year. Until the glitches I never had that many coins. As a result I tended to shy away from the legends players as I didn't want to spend the extra coin to make some of them useable.
ill make an argument for the other side. I’m a NMS player who doesn’t play super often so power ups were a way I could get cards I wanted without spending tons of coins on the top tier guys I can use training and power them up 1 or 2 away from the max card plus it gave training more of a meaning other than just opening tvps which are just outrageous at this point. So power ups for me were something I really enjoyed and hope they bring to madden 24
I liked it. Kept old cards pricey if you kept cards around so you can sell them and could give you the players if you didnt level them up all the way, could still have on your team.
Made TT much easier as well.
I will say I did enjoy speculating the big name card releases in programs and buying their power ups / low tier cards before launch to make some extra coins
PUPs kept 80-95 cards relevant throughout the life of the game in past Maddens. Andy Dalton is a 97? Ryan Fitzpatrick is now a 99. Aaron Rodgers is a 99 and not even in the top 5 of any passing statistic this season. PUPs at least made players good through investment. Now towards the end, GTs are worthless, 98-99 Ultimate Legenda are expendable, and any card under 96 only good for training.
tldr: Powerups made players good through investment and reflected actual on field performance. The lack of PUPs in MUT 23 destroyed card values as well as made 99 ovr worthless because too many players have it.

I think they're not good
There was nothing wrong with them if you had players that you knew where going to be in your side all year.
