is mut pc comparable to mut on console? it has less players so does that affect the experience?
mut on PC has less players? Why is that?
I play on PC and for the record crossplay is a thing when you play online h2h, so there is no shortage of players even if everyone on pc were to quit. The auction house is not part of that crossplay, so we do have a slimmer market for sure, but you won't have issues finding cards to buy, or the market being flooded as it does on other consoles, it happens very much in sync with other platforms. The Market is in general a bit higher on pc because lots of people work the market for coins and overprice, but it is the same gaming experience, as far as i can tell.

We’re missing some things, like lurk and angry runs.
I agree with Kasta. I play on PC. I have no issues finding games with the cross play function. Market is a little higher but nothing crazy.

I believe this is finally the first year that PC players actually get the full "next-gen" experience (as the kids are calling it, but good lordy it's 2024, PS5 has been out well over 4+ years at this point, i'd suggest PS5 is current generation of consoles, but sorry to get off topic, i'm a grumpy old man)... complete with new abilities and improved graphics.
However, EA in their infinite wisdom have completely split the markets, meaning auction house players are not able to see listings, or purchase cards from other platforms. PC typically has the least active player base, which means less auctions... higher prices, more ability for people to corner the market, inflating prices. I believe that is what OP means by "less players" and it definitely has SOME impact on the game. We all experience it this year. YMMV, hopefully actual PC players will be able to chime in. I'm on PS5, if that wasn't already obvious.
I'm a PC player and very happy with both the Next/Current gen upgrade we've received this year and the benefits of cross-play. Despite the conspiracy theories that some at the beginning of the year were fearing - especially that PC players would use macros/gimmicks to cheat in H2H games - I think cross-play has been a reasonable success. I've never been unable to get a H2H/Champs/House Rules game within 15-30 seconds this year; there were times late last season where it could take 10x that time to get a match.
The auction house is what it is. The PC experience was MUCH worse (IMO) in the Power Up world of a couple years back, where you might need a random low elite (or a low gold for a theme team) and it took a good while to find it. As someone who built Todd Gurley within a couple of days of the Team Diamonds release, there wasn't a lack of cards (with the exception being EA's asinine set requirements that meant we needed 3x a certain card and not a single one of a comparative card).

why? is there a difference between current gen consoles and pc?

That is only old gen, PC is not "old gen" on madden 24. So to be clear we DO get all the abilities/xfactors and all that stuff of current gen consoles. The consoles that don't are ps4 and xbox old gen consoles.
How can I only be finding that out now lol? I knew it didn’t work on old gen so just assumed…

Nah, I defintely have lurk artist on several of my cards.
Actually the PC Market is more or less the same as the console markets. However the main differences are that the variance in price during day and night is bigger, there's a lot less total volume of pack rippers, and its much more resistant to panic selling. I've actually bought a lot of LTDs cards on PC for cheaper than what they go for on console but if you're not early on an LTD it can be hard and expensive to find some cards. Certain LTDs that are extremely rare to pull often go extinct as well ( Ex: SB Kam, Playoffs Bosa, ZC Gronk).
I tried doing the Team Diamond set a week and a half after release and I had to wait a day just for one Juju, Breece and Jamal Adams and such and ended up giving up after doing 6 of the most profitable ones. Feeder cards can be hard to find on PC especially if its not the day of a promo. If you know what you're doing on the market though I think there's much more opportunities to take large wins at a quicker pace than console. On console markets, you sometimes have to ride the wave of 10-20 cards and hope the price goes up/down. On PC, there might be 2-5 offers at a time for one card and once those are sold the next person can set the price.
H2H wise I find theres as much people with god squads on PC as there is on console, and I find myself playing the same people quite often, especially in the event. However for most SB games they seem to match me with console players, because theres more active higher MMR players on console. I havent had any major gameplay issues or bugs playing on PC and I enjoy being able to use my keyboard in the menu. I hope next year's game comes with an integrated crossplay market.
im PC here as well. It’s not bad really. I would play again next year on Pc.
PC can get laggy at times and thats the most annoying shit. I’ve lost many games due to it lagging at the most inconvenient times in the game. Control smashing lags. Even after doing all the tips PC players give to improve gameplay and having a fully decked out gaming computer it still hasn’t helped. i’m open if anyone got anymore tips to improve. Like I said, it’s not laggy all the time, but it does lag at least a couple times every game. That’s my biggest complaint with PC. The best workaround I have is to just not have any browser or any other program open at the same time while I’m playing. I recently just lost a gamersaloon tournament in the 5th round cause the game decided to lag on a crucial drive in the 4th qtr. lagged right when I hiked the ball and by the time it stopped lagging, I just see my qb get sacked fumble and other player was running back to his end zone with his DE already… So that’s my 2cent with PC experience.

This issue, is the only real issue i have with gameplay on PC. The game isn't optimized for PC like it is for xbox x and ps5 and its noticeable sometimes. Even though most of us PC guys are running really beastly graphics setups, that annoying frame rate lag still happens randomly. The lag is weird, it will like go to like 10 fps for a solid 8-10 seconds and slow everything down to that frame by frame speed and then it will fast forward back to real time once the lag is gone. Sometimes the play will have already been snapped by that time, or you get a delay of game. I totally agree, very annoying. The saving grace, is that the lag is always very close to around 8-10seconds so it is predictable. Usually it happens in the pick play screen for me, so i can just wait out those 8-10 seconds, then pick a play and not have it mess up my play/drive. But it has messed up drives for me on numerous occasions.
