legislation. controls. laws. call it what you want but there should absolutely be a requirement to fully disclose and inform individuals as to what they are and will be purchasing or in this case, betting on. no different than gambling which does have those controls in place. they just haven't caught up with EA yet.

I have no issues with what people want to do with their own money and how they choose to spend their disposable income, whether they choose to gamble or not. None of my business.

EA however, is none of the things you have described Epic and Fortnite to be.

It is absolutely gambling with no controls of any kind. And if true that would also mean under age gambling.

Using bots with an unlimited budget to purchase any and all cards at lower price points in order to drive the market up so people and players have to spend more is price fixing. They then enforce a monopoly over that market and ban people who deviate from it.

And if I had to guess a failure to disclose revenue generated by the auction house is not nothing. I.e. if for the sake of argument 100 coins is $100 to make for easy math and EA takes 10% of that in an auction out of the MUT economy and market which further perpetuating spending. They are generating very real money because of how the auction house is structured.

It is all by design and VERY predatory.

I agree MUT in its current state is gambling. I believe they fall into a grey area similar to those legal digital slot machine companies Because By transferring or perhaps better stated by exchanging US dollars or whatever other legal tender currency is being used based on your situation and geographical location to in game/virtual currency. The paperwork must be a bit different though, I imagine. The slot machine companies definitely have a redeemable digital currency. While MUT does not but both have no monetary value by this definition. That may be why MUT is legal everywhere in the US and those other companies are only legal in probably a dozen or so states.

The rumblings I believe are still happening. Europe made a big move on this and that shook the industry quite a bit and is a large contributing factor to EA’s current situation. The rumblings are certainly more prominent in blue leaning states but I’m not trying to get political. Just stating what I believe to be true. I do believe as well at some point we will see that change come to MUT and gaming particular because of all the youth involvement in gaming. But when live services from your two American football games can bring in a billion a year you don’t cash out early. Yes, it’s predatory. Kind of the nature of the beast we live in. Payday loans and Car title loans are still legal aren’t they?

It’s a tale as old as time. My only suggestion to all the people who didn’t ask for my opinion is don’t be prey. Be a predator.

Oh brother I totally agree with everything you're saying. I thought they were trying to say Fortnite had loot boxes and all this and I was just coming to the defense of them because they are one of the few bright spots in this horrible landscape of Gaming Companies nowadays, Warhorse Studios is another one.

Gambling would insinuate that we would expect a return of real money. To me, MUT is no different than any other card collecting game (Pokemon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.). Not every pack is guaranteed a good card.

I said that I forget which one game it was and that I THOUGHT it was Fortnite.  
I just knew it was a game that had loot or Loot crates to buy and that I never played. 
My apologies, I was just giving an example.

MUT will always be invincible because people have no self control, they will forgo food, sleep, call out sick from work, buy packs repeatedly despite having some knowledge about the terrible odds. As long as people willingly do this to themselves all for the sake of being ranked on a top 100 board that doesn't even function properly, why would EA fix anything?

Try it out it's actually fun .. after all it's a video game if your mad just stop spending money.  Have a 95 over team so what I can't have a couple cards  it's a game. And honestly the pack odds are soo bad I dont even buy them for virtual coins never mind real cash . And like you said you can't win any money ever so why do it?

Although you have stated some good points, EA has many solid arguments. Because pack offers may include a variety of cards, it means there is no way to know what the consumer wants when they purchase it. Maybe he wants the Saquon card, maybe he wants the Burrow card. Maybe he wants the LOWER OVR card that fits their theme team, their favorite player or whatever.

Also, there is a chance to obtain ANY of the cards. Certain cards have better ODDS, which is where it gets tricky. It is the VALUE of those cards that create  the issue. The Auction House is their way around it. Nobody says you have to auction Saquon for 3 million coins. Hell, you can post it for under a hundred thousand. But nobody does that. The people who play this game are just as greedy as the ones who created it.

Agree with all your points here but as you said they have odds, who regulates they are actually providing the stated odds?  Casinos and online gambling companies are regulated by the State in most cases or the Federal Government in others. For these packs which contain odds, does EA have to answer to these regulations?  I honestly don't know the answer, I am not implying anything here.
