Why is it when I run mid blitz my defenders don’t get home. The other guy can run PA anything and he has all day to throw. When people run it against me I have literally 2 seconds to throw. Please help I’m about to uninstall this cheesy ass game. People call 2 plays on defense and I can’t do anything.
They are probably keeping the RB or TE in to block. The reason it works against you is because you are sending the TE and RB out on routes, so there are 6 blitzers versus 5 o linemen.
Most likely they’re taking a safety and hovering over the center to almost create another rusher. Also I’m sorry but mid blitz is extremely easy to beat. You can either run stretch out of certain formations or run auto motion plays to manipulate their man coverage. I love when people run mid blitz
Like these guys are saying, mid blitz is a math problem. They're usually sending 6 blitzers and hovering with their user to make your offensive line account for him which takes the count to 7. In order to pick up the blitz, you're going to have to counter that math.
What I do is put my HB on a check and release route. It's better than just blocking him because it won't cause the defender assigned to him to play a zone over the middle (if it's not the user). Then I untarget the user if he's hovering near the line. That way I'm blocking 6 vs. the 6 blitzers and I'll have time to make at least 1-2 reads.
From there, if they're pressing, I make sure I have a slot fade from a fast receiver. It wins a lot of the time over the top for a 1 play TD vs. pressed cover 0. Then I have other quick man-beating routes on the field like drags and posts.
There are other options too like outside runs and RPOs that get wide quickly and can get around the blitz. You can also just send 5 out and make a hot read, but that's easier said than done vs. the quick pressure.
Good luck!
