So I'll man up Boldin against whichever wr he's guarding even when I call a ZCV play for instance I might pick cover 6 or cover 2 or 3 and just man up Boldin since I want to get the full benefits of his osa ability. Is this a viable strategy and does anyone else do this? ive also thought about getting another OSA cb like Peterson and having him as my other outside CB and just manning him up in some ZCV plays also. What would be the drawbacks of running a defense this way if any? Its not something I've done alot in H2H but have recently been thinking of. I guess you could say its a custom defense. I know the only other ZCV play where a CB is also manned up against a wr is in the Dollar formation Cover 3 lock where the #4 CB man's up a wr. My #4 is Sauce and he plays well but he doesnt have OSA for cheap like Boldin and it's kind of a pain to switch them around during a game.
if you do it with intent, aware of his original assignment then yes it’s an excellent assignment to make

Yes. I used to do this with my slot corner all the time. I've now switched and do exactly what you've described w. Boldin it seems effective yes, good player will clear out that reciever and send a diff reciever 30 yards into that zone but it didn't happen frequently. For me, boldin has been the best man up and forget corner I've used. However he gets absolutely destroyed on a streak once every 3-5 games lol.
