This message is to raise awareness. I have been a Madden player since 1992. Yes I’m old! I have tried to give help other gamers when I can over the years. I.E. purchasing players for them if they have good sportsmanship etc. I also try to give advice when I can. I’m not godly by any means but I love the game and I have fun. I have a good job and have a working balance of spending a little money / grinding time on this game. Last night I had just finished my second round of completing the Elway sets. My coin bank reached 10.5M. I never purchase coins third party, it’s always from the store or the auction house in the game. I went online after the wipe and realized you can’t “talk” to anybody. It’s a generic forum that you email and then have to wait. Upon further digging and research, it’s clear this is happening to a lot of gamers this year. Their coins are getting wiped due to “misconduct”. This is theft, plain and simple. They are getting away with stealing from gamers. EA is a large tech company that is stealing from people, stealing from kids. They have a thick veil that they hide behind until the gamers just “go away” and don’t complain anymore. There isn’t a real person to talk to and there aren’t any resolutions from what i can see online. This isn’t right and something needs to be done. I am trying to stand up for what’s right. I encourage you to not take these actions lightly if they are happening to you.
Couple options here, you should still request a review of your account through EA. I was wrongfully banned a few years ago and the customer support agent said there was nothing they could do. I kept pressing, had it escalated, and received an email a few days later and an unban.
You can also file a report to the Better Business Bureau and send EA a letter explaining the situation and threatening legal action if they do not unban. This seems to work for people from what I've seen on Twitter.
I requested a review. It’s “in process”. I’m just thoroughly disgusted by not only what happened to me, but more that it’s happening to so many others. It’s an aggressive and reckless form of capitalism and they shouldn’t be able to keep operating like this without judgement or prosecution. Believe me, I have a good friend who is an attorney and another who is a local news anchor. In an age of Twitter, TikTok, etc, if this isn’t handled swiftly, they are going to find they poked the wrong bear.
You can try to reach out to @fieldghoul on Twitter. They mentioned they'd go to bat for people that had their coins wiped unfairly from the Elway set.
How is it that EA is constantly at odds with, and going to war against, their own community of gamers? No other developer is like this. Call Of Duty players don’t hate Activision. NBA2K players don’t hate 2K Games. Yet with Madden it is constant grief, failures, disappointment, lack of communication, hostility, and in cases like this and with those who purchased Christmas “presents” from them, outright theft. I suspect all the years players have spent with the Madden franchise has bought them zero loyalty, as many would happily jump ship if another football sim came along.
I don’t understand it. I’ve played Madden since year ONE. Its sad that they are able so this to people. I just don’t have to words to describe how insane the whole thing is. When I went online and kept reading and reading and reading all of the people who have been affected by this, it just makes me feel physically ill that it can even happen without any recourse.
I do agree that coin wipes are unnecessary. They are trying to combat the coin transfers but can’t properly indicate when they occur. Innocent bystanders getting caught in the crosshairs should be enough to make them stop, but Resheej from EA help will not understand these qualms…
but I’ll serve up that can of worms for breakfast another day
I've heard people talk so poorly about "ea help" but until I got banned a couple years ago you don't actually realize how inept the whole process is. I was disgusted when I found out first hand. I fought with them for 3 weeks straight to no avail n finally gave up, about a week later I got a email stating I was unbanned. I 🤞 that it never happens again, cause honestly I'd probably just walk away having the experience I had.
Ik how you feel, wish you the best of luck.

FWIW, I'm 53 and have played Madden since it only had 16 teams. I even remember that horrible day when I played the new game on the SNES and realized it was horribly broken.
So, I sympathize with you about EA's lack of loyalty. My encounters with EA customer support have ranged from not good to nightmarishly horrible. Support knows they're bulletproof. Since nobody cares, they act like jackasses.
I'm surprised no class action suit has gotten off the ground. It'd have teeth.
I’m going to look into that. I’m seeing that this will have some steam

They can easily combat the coin transfers by selling things in their own store that people want and pricing them reasonably. People have to make an effort to go out and buy and transfer coins, yet they are still willing to do so because they find the MUT store that overpriced and unappealing. That’s on EA.
Sorry to hear. I have played since the game was on 5 1/4" floppies (yes, I'm also old), so I've been loyal without anything in return.
I don't buy coins and this is the first years I've purchased more than a couple of very small packs. I haven't spent a lot this year, but certainly more than years prior. Well, I had a coin wipe of 1.9 million a couple of months ago. I actually spoke with 2 people from EA and they both said they would help. In fact, one said he could see that it was a mistake and I should see my coins within 48 hours. That was 2 months ago and I'm still waiting for the "48 hours" to be up and get my coins back. I'm still playing since I started the year and did some grinding.
That said, I'm undecided for the first year, whether I'll buy next year's game. It's a shame a company is losing ideal customers and it's all within their control. They truly don't care and apparently promote lying to customers when they finally get someone on the line to "assist". I finally gave up, but hope you get this resolved Oldman Madden. Good luck!
Did you ever get a resolution to this? I’ve been banned for the same reason for 6 days so far, I’m finding the lack of communication and lack of ways to communicate, extremely frustrating.
I did not. 10M coins gone. you will never talk to a real person. You will never receive proof. You will never receive a resolution. They are the worst kind of company. It will take good people with enough money and power to create a better game with a better experience to stop them. There just aren’t words to describe how evil and disgusting EA is. I won’t be buying another game and I’ve been playing madden since madden became a game.
Long time Madden player here. since 1990. i Recently had surgery and been playing a lot. Woke up this morning to find my account banned. Says for match cheating. never Cheated and don’t even know what they are referring to I’ve never even been suspended. I’m so confused. i have never done anything. I have also spent a plenty of money on this game. This is crazy. What can I do. I have filled the appeal.
