I have had my offense take the field to play defense a few times.  Not sure what is happening.  Every time it happens, I am flagged for being offside too.

Base align has been replaced with coverage shells ! The idea of base align was to throw your opponent off as to what defense your running !

I’m happy with it. That alignment was highly unrealistic if you come out in tight formations, trips, 1 wr formations etc.  The corners would be lined up by the sidelines, which would never happen in actual football.
