Easily provable but not yet proved and still opinionated. An opinion I’ve chosen to disagree with.

I work at a steel mill and basically live here. It would be a dream to work on a video game for a living that I choose to play as a hobby, but it’s not what I majored in.

I’m objectively opinionated in a way the differs from your own, there’s a huge difference. I just think you exaggerate like my wife and I knew it would lead to a similar amusing conversation to call you out on it. Maybe you should find a new hobby so you don’t spend so much time complaining on a forum about a game that upsets you, just so you can the be called out by a person on said forum and then continue to be upset.

Idk what toxic PC culture is, but I know that once you result to insulting someone in an argument it’s because you know you already lost.

PC culture toxicity was not present in that comment. Madden players that win more are better at madden. This weird morality attached to “skill” is just players who make winning harder on themselves than it needs to be. You’re right about zone coverage, they need to get to the sidelines in a flat zone. I don’t care which one I want EA to pick a flat zone that hits the sideline because hard flats used to but don’t anymore

Nowadays people (just like a do) quit when facing a complete loser (im not sayin you are, just dont know why people quit against you). I quit when facing brainless losers idiots spam singleback wing pair (TE attack), runs, blitzing every down, man cov every down, rpos and some shi*s like these. It s really hard to me to understand how people have fun spanding their life time playin toxic to a stupid VIDEOGAME.

So far this game is a big fail. They promised to do better. This was going be the make or break season. Well, it’s a great big break for me. Lack of content. Numerous bugs. No reason for it

Honestly man we’re seeing guys who have great win % saying they don’t even enjoy online play. He’s not the only one. Seems it’s more of a chore than enjoyment

Not disagreeing defense is really difficult, and buggy. Some people with 87 OVR teams can just lock up and play man coverage. I didn't completely disagree with the statement but I do think it's very exaggerated. I still think last year was way worse. Last year you just come out in stock man and box everything until we got route abilities. Offensive madden is just more fun, people enjoy scoring points, getting big plays, they can say they want a real life simulation game, but that would include making it really tough to score especially in mut where the teams are all super good. nobody wants a madden where games are constantly 10-7, 6-9, 14-10. That's why the game was dead by December last year. This is very much a pendulum game year to year, whatever we had the year before we are going to get the opposite the following year.

about? I'm one of the most amicable honest people you'll find on the internet. Which equates to me being toxic? meanwhile you're calling me stupid and ignorant? so deliberate toxicity is more acceptable? I can do that if you'd like but I was trying to have a decent conversation where the back and forth was more informative and less insulting, but if you want to cry about a video game, and probably everything else that makes your life the slightest bit inconvenient carry on. I will not lose one bit of sleep over it.

Zones are broken beyond belief, match coverage simply doesn't work at all, blitzing doesn't work either as lineman would stop their assignment instead of rushing and they sit at the LoS doing nothing or they run INSIDE of their teammates bodies, run blocks and pass blocks are terrible and exactly the same as in Madden 23 with just slightly tuned sliders, pursuit angles are beyond disgusting, tackling (yet again) doesn't exist and is gonna get worse with abilities, the AI is omega broken with one jurdle or juke being able to fool 5 players at once, knockouts are random as fuck or DDA dictated and shit is so funny when you take 5 steps and someone gets that teleporting animation from behind to tap you in the back so you drop the ball OR when someone throws directly into the zone and still catches it after getting hit Kam Chancellor style, the physics engine that they advertised as well as the AI that was supposed to stop play spammers is nowhere to be found, performance difference between platforms is RIDICULOUS (PC to Xbox to PS5) ...

I can go on, and on, and on...

They fully deserve that rating on metacritic.com even with those paid reviews rolling out like crazy.

I feel bad for all those people spending money on this game, skill ceiling is extremely low and even people hard stuck in Rookie can win with literal MCS competitors, they took away the competition and left us with a gambling scheme.

If you see someone talking about "skill" in Madden you should be able to smack that person in the face for being extremely ignorant.

As someone who constantly sits in Legends division of MUT H2H with NMS theme team for the past 5 years, I have never felt so disheartened to continue playing.

Game is dead, so is the community(apart from people who think they did something cool when pulling an LTD after spending hundreds).

I have extremely limited frame of reference as a fairly new MUT player (started my first squad December `22), but seeing your post is incredibly refreshing... although i'm quite certain you'll get waves of push back. I was getting so disheartened with the lack of critical thinking and community members just willingly lapping up whatever shit-sandwich EA decides to dump in our mouths, with so many literally begging for more. I signed up for simulation fatball -- this is anything but, seems to be trending towards arcade. The physics engine seems to barely work and even a novice should be able to see how poor the "AI" gameplay actually is. I can't get through a single 2P game with my son without multiple game-breaking bugs; defenders warping through their opponent, passes bouncing off the back of a receiver's helmet, linemen that won't move or run, just sort of treadmill in place in a weird squatting position and on and on. We should be demanding better for the $70-100 many of us spent on the game. Lots of folks have spent much, much more.

However, addicts don't liek it when you try to stage an intervention. Unfortunately, brings out the worst in people. Simply calling this out for what it is, "gambling scheme" -- basically a casino for kids, merely suggesting that is going to make a whole lot of folks incredibly butt-hurt. It's getting more and more difficult for me to even watch certain streamers lately, with all the degenerate gambling stuff, I just end up feeling sad for them. They'll drop hundreds in an evening on stream for a bunch of gold 70s and then spend the final few minutes of the video attempting to justify their luck and twist things in their mind to somehow convince themselves that there was value in what they just did. Junkie justification for days.

I've played enough video games over the decades, to feel fairly qualified to gauge the "quality" (using that term loosely here) of Madden. I've been playing fatball video games since at least 1989. Cannot really recall if we ever had an Atari football game, do not believe any NFL licensed products existed back in those days, prior to Tecmo Bowl... which was and remains absolutely legendary. That shit is still fun in 2k23. Not so certain `24 will stand the test of time, heh. Alright, enough from this grumpy old man. Unfortunately, this is probably a hot take -- can't wait to read all the reactions to your great post above, "but, but, but... scheme over team, brah. You just need to git gud." I can already hear it now.

Keep on keepin it real, my man. You're an absolute legend, @blckovr. Please keep callin it liek it is.

EDIT: I conveniently overlooked the "objectively the worst Madden in history" portion of the comment, assuming it was a bit hyperbole, but i only have a few recent years (22, 23 & 24 on PS5) to compare it to, otherwise all my Madden experience came before MUT even existed, so i'll leave those reactions to others who have been here consistently for years and years.
